Nice video man! I have a Sorento with a window issue and it’s the same symptom (passenger front) window goes down but not up. This simplified the schematic a great deal for me

I had this problem with my sister's car. Before you go tearing into everything (which I did) go to the auto part store and grab some electronics cleaner and spray the crap out of the switches. Save time and money friends

so both your switches made front passenger window go down , both did not make it go up? when that happened you diagnosed the master switch panel for that switch yes? was this because all the other 3 switches slave off the master on drivers side?

Did it go up when you use the passenger side switch? in other words are the passenger side and driver side switches independent?

My Buddy changed his switch twice and it’s still doing the same thing do you think he left d something unplugged

So you have to take the whole door off??? And it would have been nice of you could have should how u took the switch out!!

Hello. I have this issue on my Kia Sportage 2011 1.7 diesel. Is it possible to cause other problems. I have auto start indication on and the Cruise control doesn't work.

This is really helpful. I ended up needing to replace the switches on a couple doors as well as the master switch panel by the drivers seat. Now that I’ve done that, the drivers window doesn’t go up or down - and before it was the only one that worked 😂 do you know what could have caused that?

I’m dealing with the same exact thing. The original problem was the drivers rear going down but not up. Replaced main switch and now every window but the drivers front works perfectly.

Was the problem with the Master window switch or with the switch on the passenger side. I was confused as to which needed to be replaced.

In this situation the issue was in the master window switch, Don't forget that proper a proper diagnosis is always required, as one situation maybe similar but the part in question is completely different. Thanks for watching

The Diagrams are oem so i cannot share a link. you can however get wiring diagrams at a cost of 35$ for your vehicle for 1 year, mitchell diy or alldata diy.

I’m having the same issue on a 2012, in this case would neither the passenger or driver side switches work to command up?

I'm having an issue with my wife's power seat not wanting to move back and forth. Do I need to remove the entire driver's seat to replace the switch?

it might not be a switch but broken wiring, or a blow fuse. I would check the power seat fuse first. I have a video obn this but have yet to edit it yet. thanks for watching

hi! so i have a 2011 sportage, but my problem is different, my rear right window go down but not up! i remove the motor, and in the plug i get 12V when i press DOWN and again 12v when i press UP( BUT WITH THE MOTOR REMOVED) Then i put 12v from a battery to the motor and he works perfectly .... so my next step was... i plug the motor and measure the power... i press DOWN i get 12v ....... i press UP i d not get power...maybe 2-3V for a half second! do you have any clue?

focus on the motor(do the testing) for the passenger side window. verify power and grounds are reaching the motor assembly.

My problem is the passenger door handle on the outside doesn’t work, nor does the window on the same side. The driver side is still works on all the windows and the passenger door handle works on the inside… Any advice??

its hard to to say, but seems to me you should check for operation at the connectors at that door and make sure you have signal coming in.

How much is the switch? And is it called just a switch?

check the switch for proper operation. Also check and make sure that each individual switch at each door is functioning properly, a thorough diagnostic is needed.

It really depends on the symptoms and where the diagnosis leads. It could be a fuse /wiring/switch/window motor /bcm ect. When it comes to diagnostics there is no one part fixes all, My best suggestion is do research and find a shop that has a good reputation with electrical repairs. You might pay more up front but save in the long run. Also ask for details on how they came up with the diagnosis, the tech that worked on your vehicle should be able to answer your questions and should have filled out a report with the process they took. this video should show that a good knowledge of electrical circuits is needed in order to properly diagnose a vehicle, and not everything can be fixed by watching a 2 minutes video on youtube. If the symptoms are what a video is showing and testing the system(s) in a manner close to what the video is showing, then a diagnosis of a specific component can be done. TEST-DIAGNOSE-REPAIR-TEST REPAIR

How can I do this without that tool?

unless you have a very good understanding of the circuit you are working on.. I would not attemp this.. you could add a power where it is not suppose to go , which in turn could damage a module.

You didn't say which switch, what if a wire on the other one is shot? what if it's the wire in the harness? you're telling pple to spend allot of money on what may end up being not the problem. What if ?

The solution in this case was to replace the switch. always do a proper diagnostic before replacing a compnent.

my grandmas kia sportage passenger window rolls down but wont go up when a passenger tries to roll it up but the drivers master switch rolls up like a dream.. weird

you are probably looking at a switch issue..since the master switch can control it up and down.. always test, dont guess. thanks for watching

Vehicles have become complicated, and knowing how to diagnose a system makes it so that you are not changing a part needlessly, Even a door lock actuator is between 200-400$ plus diagnostics time. Thanks for watching

you could, but what if its not the switch, electronic components are normally non returnable when opened.

my favorite part of all of this, it was so much fucking better when we just had a handle that you could turn and the window always work no matter what you called his progress. We’re a bunch of stupid monkeys with laptops, thinking that we have progress I had to scroll through 80% of the video because it’s so stupid. All you wanna do is raise a goddamn window. I really am looking forward to solar flares. I’m not even joking.
