First of all, that's what genres are for. Of course bands of the same genre will somehow sound the same. Are you not aware that phish sounds like every other band of their genre?? Second, there are limited types of tuning (especially on metalcore it's just among drop d, c, or a), which can confuse you of having the same sound. Third, here's a line from Motionless in White's Devil's Night, "Think before you fuckin speak."
