    Interesting fixtures in the fire service panel! Also at least for the fire panel it has a working door close button unlike the main door close button which usually doesn't work. Anyways nice video!

    Thanks. The other door close button becomes active in fire service. Kinda a waste to have two though. I wish they would activate the main door close for general use but thats a Schindler for ya.

    Where did you get the keys from. What is the innovation fixtures product code?

    We use two different Innovation fire service keys. FE0-K1 and #515. The FE0-K1 is the one mostly used on our campus as we have tried to standardize as many of the elevators with the same fire service as we could. We purchase the keys from a company but you have to verify with them that your job requires the use of these keys. I have seen them on Ebay as well.

    @neaelevator12 жыл бұрын

    @elevatorgeek1234 This as are all of the modernizations are the FEO-K1 key. The only unique elevators are the first two modernizations that were completed of the 1968 Dovers (the one that I did a fire service on a few videos ago). Those two take the 515.

    It looks like a very basic installation. Whenever you test fireman's Operation, do you also trip one of the smoke detectors in front of the elevator?

  • @neaelevator

    @neaelevator

    5 жыл бұрын

    No testing these does not affect the smoke detectors. However, the smoke detectors when activated will send the elevator to the nearest floor, doors will open, and it will remain locked until the fire service is activated or until the smoke detector is cleared.

    I'm visually impaired, but I've been interested with seeing how many key slots there are on an elevator control panel. How can you tell what keys go into which key holes? Also, that sounds pretty cool how the elevator has different service modes.

    Sometimes its not easy with the round barrel keys. Each key is stamped with a number and that helps remember which one goes where.

    What type of key each lock takes depends on a few things. 1. The brand of elevator. 2. The key switch porpoise 3. The location ( where required) 4. The type of fixtures (buttons)

    The Door open and Door close buttons on the main panel are often neglected since having them break won't bring the whole elevator out of service, so they may go unrepaired for weeks. How many times have you been in an elevator where the door close button didn't seem to do anything?

  • @AlabamaElevators

    The door open button is required to work, door close buttons are not, I have come across many elevators where door close works.

    Ex515 is the regular innovation fixtures key, but after 2007, all elevators installed must use the FEOK1 for fire service. So this elevator takes the FEOK1, you normally tell just by looking at the fire service key switch, if the elevator is not innovation, and it has a barrel key for phase 1, and the rest of the key switches are not barrel key switches, then it probably takes the FEOK1

  • @neaelevator

    @neaelevator

    Yes they are those flat style that would definitely be difficult. If they had to be used regularly, the outside film label of the button would most likely wear off and expose the electronics itself.

    That's one reason the only button I press in the fire panel is the call cancel button. Door-wise, I just use the standard door open and close buttons.
