I bought a 2012 Mazda 3s Sedan 2.5L w/ 6-speed manual in Dec 2013 as a brand new vehicle for $13,900 out the door. I still drive it now, and it runs like new with the 110,000 miles so far. A few modifications over the years to it has made it extra fun to drive. Best choice I could have made at the time.

I bought a 2010 speed3 brand new and I enjoyed the car for 8 trouble free years( also was my first manual) and it was a blast to drive. Second was a Mazda 6 sedan and now on my third Mazda (cx5). if you want enjoyment out of your daily commute Mazda has been killing it for a very long time, the driving dynamics across all the cars I’ve owned are in a class of their own.

@@nicklanfear4303 have you had any major problems with it that I should be aware of? I’m currently looking to get one of these myself. I recently found a 2010 w/manual, 180K miles, super clean. The current owner is asking $7,000 for it. Thinking about pulling the trigger, but first I’m trying to collect as much info as possible from other consumers before moving forward. So far the reviews have been mainly positive.

@@raphb2725 not in this current market unfortunately. I’ve done a ton of research and that’s how much people are paying for these. The good, clean, well maintained onces are going for $7,000-$7,500 where I live. I checked the Kelley Blue Book value and it ranges from $5,800-$7,000 with that many miles. These are weird times man. With the low vehicle inventory It is a sellers market for sure.

Great video! Previously, I owned a 2011 sedan that was the same color and had the same wheels. Your mom's car looks amazing. Evidently, it has received a good deal of T.L.C., as it should be, especially considering the care Mazda takes to ensure its cars' paint looks stunning. I am a big Mazda fan! My college-age son is currently driving what used to be my daily driver up until recently (a 2013 Mazda 3 Sedan). It is safe, reliable and very easy/fun to drive,. I think it is a great first car for him. Thanks for sharing.

I've had a Mazda3 SP25 2009 in Australia. Same model as this one (no sunroof, but an auto dual clutch). This car is awsome. It is built to last. I've never had major issues, only regular maintenance. It was my second Mazda3 and now I have a Mazda3 2017 SP25, fully loaded with techs that would cost a lot more in other cars. Mazda builds quality and tech cars and charges a resonable price.

We’ve had a Velocity Red 2010 Mazda 3i 5AT sedan 4door for going on 4 years. Its been rock solid reliable. 180k miles now. Haven’t had to do much repairs. Replaced the rear end sway links. There was a factory recall on the driver seat bracket welds. Dealer fixed for free. The key fobs both stopped working (mazda dealer couldnt fix) didnt feel like spending $400-500 for a new fob because same particular dealer couldnt program it to work with my 2004 Miata Ls new fob.Installed set of new KYB oem shocks and struts alignment done with new tires .. yet still a bouncy ride. Suspect front end sway links/ tie rods. The MPG is around 20-24 mpg. Bluetooth is a bit cumbersome but works once u get the hang of it. Seats arent super comfy but work

Ha ha ha.. I own a 2012 Mada 3, bought as an inbetween car, to drive before I settle down on something, lets just say newer. Owned it for a year now, paid good price as was sitting for a while on friends drive, this is my project also. It is only the 1.6 turbo diesel version, but in th UK this is fine. Never looked at Mazda's before I got this of a friend, bought out of convenience really. Mazda's are those, or were those cars that were over looked. But now I am considering a new or newer sportier model of Mazda 3 after this one, but will miss this styling big time, I think they still fit in, on todays roads. When other cars of the same age, are so out of place.. Understood about the rear seating, but just my young kids in back, so alls good. I have changed all rotars and pads, painted calipers changed drop & swaybar links, and now rides lovely. Including rear shocks after 60,000. Its still done under 70,000 as I type this, I love it. More to do thou, but not going overboard. Appreciated the love of your mums car video my friend, and thank you for sharing. I have become a new Mazda fanboy... 😂

  • @drivecore2021

The overall reliability has been awesome! It hasn't required any major repairs to date such as suspension or engine work. In terms of cost, it would be almost $200 a year. Now that's based on oil changes and other fluids. Of coarse, this can vary from other people's experience with this generation of Mazda 3. It's like any car, if it's well maintained it will last a long time.

Mazda 3 BL is more sporty, actually it was one of the best driving cars in its segment and price range that time. It's still just a daily car which will not break your back on every pot hole but have a great feeling during curves with precision steering and kind a feedback of what the car is doing (even not so much like first gen). Even while driving on the edge M3 is providing good feedback and control, while ESP is not overacting. Great maunal transmittions with short travels and sporty feeling with a bit harder clutch and brake you would expect compared to other cars. AT should be reliable and smooth but not fastest, you will loose a bit of fun choosing AT over MT in Mazda 3. Chassis is usually reliable, mine Mazda 3 BL have already 320k km without large investments needed. Be prepared for more road noise. Corrosion should not be so big problem in this generation, even I have done additional protection of the car chassis just a while after purchase.

I dont actually like the newer Mazda's. They are too connected and even they have gone alone with the others of collecting data on you. But more than that, while i dont mind the newer exteriors, i HATE the interiors. I especially hate this trend of putting the infotainment screens plopped on top of the dash like its just and afterthought glued on. The in-dash screens are MUCH better looking and more intuitive to use imo than some jog dial in a random location.
