@@LostSouls164 i have a 11 maxima not an sv tho but as a car i like it it does have speed rides comfortable seat are soft and have nice adjustments. ive had man 6 years and only changed the alternator and that was my fault i forgot the switch on on .i just recently did the ac...condenser and all that other than those things its been great, matter of fact i just turn to 98,000 miles yesterday

@@LostSouls164 Don't know if you got it or not but I have one a 2011 SV and it has been running like a champ! I am about to change my fluid on the next oil change. I have 170K on it now bought with 28K. No issues at all other than normal maintenance stuff.

I too have a 7th gen Maxima and do ALL my own maintenance. I am glad that you are still enjoying success with your CVT oil/filter change. Because, specifically in the Nissan Service Manual is says to use *only* Nissan NS-2 fluid and the the refill amount is strange. It says the refill amount is what is drained. Meaning, you've to measure what was drained and replace with that same amount. This is why I am glad you are having success with NOT doing either of those. I will be doing my CVT fluid/filter change for the second time (123k miles) and plan to go by the dipstick method. It is such a PIA measuring the amount of old fluid that was drained.

I've used Castrol CVT Black and now Castrol CVT/ATF universal in my altima without any issues. Actually feels better than what it did with NS2

Nice video explains things pretty well. I have changed a few of these. A few tips that might help others. 1. BEFORE you drain it, check the fluid level using the proper procedure. It is easier to read the dipstick with the old fluid rather than the new fluid. After its drained, measure the amount that came out and put this amount back in (obviously, if it was over/under filled before you stared the amount needs to be adjusted). Add a cup or so more if replacing the filter. Double check afterwards that the proper amount is in there. It is important to get this correct. Its just hard to read the dipstick with the new fluid. I usually have to use about 4.0 to 4.5 qts to refill. 2. I use only Nissan NS2 fluid. I bought it from the dealership for $17/qt. It might be a little higher than the other brands, but do you really want to save a few bucks and risk ruining your $3k transmission? Not me. The service manual says to replace NS2 every 15k miles under "normal" driving conditions. It does not mention replacing the filter, but it can't hurt to do it.

@@tommymac3029 The 15k interval is not from me., that is straight from the 2010 Service Manual. See section MA-11.Its not in the Owners Manual. That is Nissan recommendation for schedule 2 driving.

@@xaviercarr8599 I have an antifreeze drain and flush video, that is recorded, but not finished. I hope to have it out soon! Replacing spark plugs on this car is a PROJECT! The intake manifold plenum/top has to come off to get to the rear plugs. The front 3 cylinders are a piece of cake.

Thanks! I just completed my transmission fluid change with filter. In the past when I did not change the filter I added total 4 quarts but with the filter being changed I noticed 5 quarts. It’s a little and it’s all out there for people but make sure you check your dipstick accordingly!

I have a 2014 nissian maxima sv with 106k miles. Decided to take the pan off in the process. The pan was black with wear sludge filled in the lower part and didn't drain out with the plug detached. So it's advised to check that too. The liquid was kinda clear comming out of the plug but almost black when draining the rest of it out of the pan. I wouldn't worry too much of the internal filter but that cooler filter on the outside is a good plan. I used the same part number showed in this video and was gunna do it the same way this guy did it but my dad wanted to see what was in the pan so. I'm not sure if the previous owner didn't do the regular cvt oil changes in the car before I got it or what but I think taking the pan out is a good idea. The next time I do a cvt fluid change then I'm gunna do it this way in the video. It's a good idea to check the magnets in the pan too. Just a heads up. It took almost 6 quarts of cvt ns-2 that way. Why didn't nissian put the drain on the lower part of the transmission, I don't know. The outer cooler had a little of that blackish sludge in it so comming to the conclusion that that outer cooler filter must be changed when you drain the fluid everytime. I want to cut inside that filter to see what's inside of it, if it's a screen like the internal filter or it's an actual filter. Nissian made it to where they want you to take it to the dealer. This dude in this video looks like he's doing this procedure often to where it might not be important to take that pan off. I'm gunna do it this way on the next time. You can use other products of cvt fluid instead of nissians cvt ns-2 too. I used that same one. Everything worked out pretty good

aso what i did was replace twice as you cannot get all the fluid out with just the drain plug. So replaced, ran the car for 30 days or so, replaced again. Only changed the filter once. This lasts about 25k to 30k. Also, when I bought from dealer they sold me ns3. I called and they said they were not supposed to tell me that you can use ns3 where ns2 is stated, but you cannot use ns2 when ns3 is stated.

You changed the secondary in line filter. The primary transmission filter is in the pan. The filter in the pan is the filter that needs to be replaced along with cleaning the dual magnets on the pan. Thank you for showing this though.

I did this video on an effort to be helpful to other people. I get nothing from YT. Actually, it's sometimes a pain, because people want to argue, without looking into things first. There isn't a filter in the pan. The only filter is external. There is only a screen on the inside of the pan. Dropping the pan to clean the magnets can be fun but not really useful. I'm not sure there's even magnets inside the pan. Most pans are steel making putting magnets in there easy. The Maxima CVT has an aluminum pan. Likely to dissipate heat. They would have had to fasten the magnets somehow. The only clutch in this CVT Is used for reverse. If there is metal coming off of the belt and stuck to the magnets, it's not circulating with the fluid and there are bigger issues, anyways...likely from someone not changing the fluid or the external filter because they didn't know they needed to. three steps removing the plug. Dont try to remove directly. Spray generous with liquid wrench, all the way around, really drench. Wait at least 10 minutes. Next, tap with a hammer around the edge of plug, tapping on the plug itself, not a tiny tap, not like you are driving a nail. Then, using the 10mm plug as described in this video, attach a long handled breaker bar or torque wrench bar to remove.

Yeah, something told me to not even bother trying this with my regular ratchet with extension.

Keep em cool as many ways of reduced coolant water ratios, both filters and best cvt fluid each 30k, seal all leaks of radiator plenum, keep radiators clean.

Thank you for the feedback! I changed the filter before drain and refill. Only a small amount of ATF came out. The filter was full, but it doesn't hold a lot. You don't need to drain the fluid to replace the filter. Just make sure to top it off when the new filter is installed.

The Nissan parts book doesn't show a filter inside the CVT. I'm not doubting there is one, but they don't have a replacement part. Not sure why. After looking at some other videos on disassembly of this CVT, it appears that there is a screen (not a filter) in the pan. Seems pretty coarse. It could be taken out and cleaned, but I'm not sure it's worth it. There is a "FULL" range marked on the dipstick

So apparently . Yes that is an External transmission filter that you changed. So it seems there is not only 1 but 2 transmission filters on the car. Despite what you were told by Nissan. There is definitely an internal transmission filter in which you were not aware of. It is housed underneath the transmission pan. There's a gasket there as well that should also be replaced when changing the transmission filter. I will be ordering and changing the External one also but I believe the more important filter is the one underneath the pan which can become built up with sludge and effect performance dramatically.

I don't know about the filter on the side of the trans..but the transmission filter is under the transmission pan which he did not remove and replace filter and gasket as he should have.

Thanks for watching! Nissan does not sell a filter that goes inside of the CVT. I have also been unable to find an aftermarket supplier that sells one. The teardown videos on YT of this transmission show only a screen on the inside, not a filter like every other transmission I have ever worked on. The only filter that I could find, that is available, is the external filter. If you are able to find an internal filter kit, please reply back. We could all use that information.

I’m not sure how true it is but I’ve always been told to never use aftermarket fluids. Always oem Nissan cvt fluid for the 7th gen maxima cvt fluid. Aftermarket isn’t the same and it won’t give you the proper lubrication and could possibly ruin the transmission

You should do what you feel is correct. I can understand NOT wanting to mix fluid types, especially coolants. Having said that, manufacturers like Nissan do not make oil, coolant or other fluids. They work with various fluid vendors to develop a specification for a particular fluid, take the best bid, and then have it private labeled as their product, for resale. As long as the product is made by a well-known manufacturer, meets, or exceeds the specifications, you aren't getting any benefit from buying the private labeled product. In many cases fluids, such as CVT fluid, continue to be developed and improved, long after the manufacturer's involvement in developing the original spec. This is because these vendors want to beat out their competition. Do you use Nissan-branded oil in your engine? If so, by all means stick with the manufacturer's fluid. Unfortunately, it is usually 3-4 times more expensive than equivalent-spec. products.

Whoa! I would check the oil first. Make sure you don't have any metal shavings. If none is found you should be ok to change it. I recommend Amsoil CVT fluid.

Changing the transmission fluid is not going to hurt anything. My understanding is that FLUSHING the transmission is supposedly problematic. Mine seemed to work better after changing it, every time.

Thanks for watching! I can't diagnose what is going on with your Maxima. If you haven't changed the CVT fluid with 120K miles, you should. I changed mine twice in that time frame. The trans is very expensive to replace or rebuild. Fluid and a filter are relatively cheap "insurance". It's a basic maintenance item on this car.

HI! Thanks for watching the video. As far as I know, you should remove one hose at a time and install them on the new filter. This way they are going to the same connections on the new one as the old. Hope this helps!

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with the 8the gen. so I don't know what changes Nissan made in the newer model. The Nissan parts book doesn't show a filter inside the CVT. I called the local Nissan dealer parts department to see if one is available prior to making this video. They gave me the part number in the video. This is why I purchased the external filter. I'm not doubting there is one inside, but they didn't have a replacement part number for it. Not sure why. This is the only transmission I've ever serviced that doesn't seem to have an internal filter. This website may be helpful for you- www.nissanpartsdeal.com/ After looking at some other videos on disassembly of this CVT, it appears that there is a screen (not a filter) in the pan. Seems pretty coarse. It could be taken out and cleaned, along with the inside of the pan which would get out any debris from the wear of the internal parts. Thank you for the positive feedback! I really appreciate it! Sorry to say, but I have no experience with the Juke CVT. From my experience, none of the car manufacturers make their own fluids. Instead, they work with manufacturers and develop a specification for the fluid. The specification allows different manufacturers to develop their version of the fluid that meets or exceeds all of Nissan's specifications. Most car manufacturers do this so they can get competitive bids for the private labeled (Nissan) fluids they sell, whether it is brake, diff. fluid, engine oil, or trans fluid. This is the same way that new types of engine oils are developed. I know of no one, outside the dealership, that uses the Original Equipment manufacturer's oil or transmission fluids. I don't believe there is any advantage to doing so. I don't believe that there is any hidden science that makes Nissan CVT fluid different. If it meets the specs and is from a reliable company, all is good. Nissan is going to tell customers to use their fluid, simply because they sell it. It was originally made to their specification, so they probably paid to develop it. I have changed the CVT fluid with Valvoline NS-2 rated fluid 3 times, in 120K and the CVT has no issues. The car seems to pull harder from a stop with new(er) fluid. The fluid has always come out of the trans nearly clear. My understanding (although I do not recommend this) is that the change interval in the factory service manual is at 15K miles. There is a comment listed here that indicates that. I don't have a service manual for reference and 15K seems like really low mileage. I don't know of any other car where the trans fluid is changed at 15K. I've been changing it about every 50K . You should use the fluid you feel is the right one for you. I would definitely recommend replacing the filter with each fluid change.

That IS weird. Not sure why. If I remember correctly the fluid line that it connects to goes to the trans cooler. This would indicate to me that the filter is full flow, not bypass. If it clogs, big pressure/flow drop. I didn't cut mine apart, to see how dirty, or not, it was. Probably should have.

Us sc42 on ur garage power wash it with degreaser and then seal it with sc 42 and itll wipe right off

What brand shock would you recommend for 2011 maxima sport package for rear shock

The OEM Nissan part number for the 2011 model shocks appears to be P/N E6210-9N10C; 2 required; ~$130 each. This P/N is for the S, SV, and LE models. I haven't needed to replace the rear shocks on my Maxima yet. Having said that, I have used KYB shocks and struts for over 35 years with really good results. I would use KYBs on my Maxima. I even replaced new Bilstein shocks on my Chevy Silverado, after a very short time and installed KYBs. Maybe it's me, but I think they work the best. Someone else might have a different opinion. I do not have any financial stake in making that recommendation, btw. Just trying to help. Whatever choice you make, please let us know what you chose and the results. It would likely help others.

Followed this video to do my CVT transmission fluid drain and fill. I put 5 quarts in it but.. Im not sure if I ran the car long enough. Going to check the levels again in the morning. This was the best video I've seen for a walkthrough of servicing a maxima. I have the same year with a little over 70k miles on it. Just to clarify.. did I hear you say you put 5 quarts of fluid in yours Tommy?

I believe I did say that. BUT...there's a note on-screen at 14:40 indicating that the actual amount I used was 3.75 quarts. Other people have left comments that they refilled it to 5 quarts, so I can't say for sure what the final refill will be for your car. My suggestion is to recheck the fluid level with the CVT, warm, after driving it by checking the level on the dipstick.

Hello! I'm sorry to say, but I don't know what that symbol is. I can only suggest you take a picture of the symbols and show it to an experienced Nissan mechanic. You might be able to find out also by Googling it. Have you looked in your owners manual?

I didn't show it, because it didn't seem necessary at the time. Sorry it wasn't clear. When you are recording it isn't always easy to know what the viewer needs to see. There is an explanation at 14:40. I'm an old dog, and videos are kind of a new thing for me...I'll try to do better next time. Get the engine to operating temperature (needle should be in the middle of the temp. gauge) , while running, with the transmission in 'PARK', and with the car parked on a level surface, remove the dipstick. The level should be in the 'FULL' range on the dipstick. If it isn't, slowly add fluid and allow to circulate in the transmission and recheck until it is. Do not overfill. Hope this helps !

So do you think this is normal I measured exactly what came out and it was about just like yours about three quarts and three quarters that came out, I put the same amount back in. I turned on the car I let it heat up to halfway. While it was on I checked the stick and it was still below the criss cross square mark. So I added about another half a quart and it's maybe just an eight of an inch past the criss cross square starting from the bottom ,is that at normal fill up range, or should I pour in more. @@tejanolife79 No worries. I understand your concern. It sounds like it is fine. Just make sure that the car is on a reasonably level surface when you check it. Engine hot (middle of gauge) and running, in 'PARK'. Most driveways slope out towards the street, at least where I live, so just something to be aware of. I check mine in the street in front of my house because it is fairly level. I've driven to local parking lots to find level spots, at my last house. I would sometimes drive around the block to get the fluid to circulate a bit and recheck it. It sounds like the level is a little bit low, but probably fine. You won't really hurt anything if you overfill it a bit, though, either. Ideally you would want it right in the middle of the "X" area, but a little above or below the center of the "X" area is fine.

Yes. I'm not sure it's worth the hassle, but it couldn't hurt either. Might get out some of the gunk that could accumulate there. Multiple people have suggested a better way to service the CVT is by dropping the pan to "replace the filter inside". While this is SOP for most autos, I have yet to find a part number for an internal filter. The Nissan dealers I've contacted couldn't provide a part or number for an internal filter. YT teardown videos only show a screen inside. If you find one, please let us know!

Ill be working on my maxima this weekend, and sorry if this is a stupid question but do i have to replace the filter before i drain the trans fluid? Or can i drain all the fluid first then replace the filter then add the fluid?

Not stupid at all. I've asked a lot of questions over the years...so I never mind a question. I'll try to give you a good answer....lol. I've done it both ways. When you remove the rubber lines from the filter, you will get a 'drool' of ATF dripping out of the lines, but It's not a lot of fluid. In this video I replaced the filter, then drained it. I don't think it would matter too much either way...as long as it is all drained and then refilled to the proper level. I hope this eases your concern.

Sorry to say but I don't know what that code means. I'm assuming that you are reading the error code with a simple code reader. I would suggest you have someone with a high level scan tool, that can interrogate and determine the root cause, check it out. I don't know if changing the fluid is helpful to correct that issue or not, but I would suggest you avoid driving the car. You do not want to possibly damage the CVT any further.

Thank you for Watching! The filter can be purchased at any Nissan dealer. You can also buy it online. There are a lot of Nissan dealers that sell via the web. If you Google "Nissan" and the part number, you will likely get a few hits. Unfortunately, my computer crashed two weeks ago and I lost all of my bookmarks, including the Nissan dealer I was buying from, so I can't pass that info along. Yes,I do think it's a good idea to change the filter and fluid. That's about 60000 miles. It certainly won't hurt anything. I change mine about every 50K miles. I think the service interval recommended by Nissan is much less than that, but I don't have a service manual.

I've had very good luck with mine. I've replaced the normal wear items-brakes, belt, struts/shocks, bulbs, etc. The only unexpected repairs were to replace the starter-which was really a ground connection under the battery that was corroded and the air inlet "boot" which split at the throttle body. The spark plugs are a pain to replace, but they lasted 100K. I've had zero issues with the CVT, but also maintain it regularly. Some people don't like the CVTs because of how they work. They do have a bad failure reputation in other cars. I'd recommend it.

No. That would damage the CVT. I leave the car off from the night before so there is no heat in the fluid.

Hello, i am the 4th owner of my 2010 Maxima SV and carfax shows no maintenance of the transmission and it’s now got 166k on the ODO. What do i do, it’s got very minor slippage at the moment and I’m not sure how to go forward because i need this car to last

That's a tough one. Lately, I've heard some stuff that I'm not sure I agree with. You may have heard this too. The idea is if you have a conventional trans with a lot of unmaintained miles, don't change the fluid and filter. The new fluid will wash away the debris that is preventing the trans from failing from worn clutches and seals. The CVT does have a valve body and solenoid valves, but from what I understand, there is only a single clutch pack that is only used for reverse. The CVT should not have the same issues as a regular trans. In my experience, draining the fluid and refilling the fluid helps to minimize slippage. This is because the fluid seems to thin out over time. New fluid and filter seems to make it work better. I hope these opinions help you and didn't confuse you even more... I'd change it. Good luck!

I guess you could. I don't see any benefit to doing that however, as there is still a significant amount of fluid let in the transmission that cannot be drained. Let us all know if you do flush it, and the results.

It is a V6. I don't believe there was a 4 cylinder version of the Maxima.

aren't you supposed to DRAIN the transmission before you do that? and what about the transmission filter located IN the transmission pan Under the car?

Yes, you could do it that way. It doesn't seem to matter if you drain CVT first or last. The supply and feed lines evidently drain the fluid back into the transmission sump. There is very little fluid that comes out when the filter is replaced. Opening the lines first may also allow the fluid to flow back to the pan. This is also why I recommend letting it sit overnight. From what I can tell, there is only a screen inside the transmission-not really a filter like in every other transmission I have ever worked on. The teardown videos on YT only show a screen. There may be magnets inside to catch the metallic debris, but the pan is aluminum, so they would have to mechanically attach to the pan somehow or are located elsewhere. I have also not been able to find a replacement internal filter, either from Nissan, or an aftermarket replacement. If you come up with something, we would all appreciate the information. Without having a replacement on hand to install when the old one comes out, I don't really see the value in dropping the pan for the fluid/filter replacement. The seal for the screen/pickup would likely be hard from use. So you may not be able to reuse of the old seal. If hard, it could also crack or split. This could leave someone stranded because the seal is not on-hand or even available... Having said all of that, I'm planning on removing the pan at the next service and I will make an update video.

I’ve never change my CVT and it just hit 190k. You think it’s unsafe to change fluid, or do just the filter, or just do 50/50 old/new fluid replace? Idk what to do from here

I would change the fluid and filter. The fluid gets thin over time. You'll likely feel a difference afterwards. Refill with fresh fluid, only. You can't change _all_ of the fluid anyway, because several quarts will remain in the torque converter. There isn't a drain plug on the TC.

I'm NOT an expert, but I doubt it would hurt anything. Putting in fresh fluid and a filter should only help. I noticed better performance with smoother acceleration, after replacing the fluid and filter. However, I would recommend against flushing it.

@@alexmedellin1284 the NS-2 from Nissan, but I may switch over to Amsoil...it is not much if any cheaper, but one or two of its pluses are it prevents belt slip better than OEM

I have a 2010nissanMaxima auto CVT transmission. Well i have a transmission leak. I put some trans leak stopper into my car but did not read directions b4 hand and it says do not use on manual/cvt trans and now my car wont start. Please do you have any ideas of what happened or what i should do? (Btw my car is push to start)

You have a different issue related to your engine .. that sounds like you have a starter issue with your engine nothing wrong with your cvt

@@Tommy_Mac because it said on bottle DO NOT use for cvt transmission. So if used it and my trans is cvt then nothing happens?? There’s obviously a reason why it said DONT use on cvt trans. After that my engine will not start so i KNOW its from that product. Like my car turns on but the engine doesn’t start at all.

So your car has been sitting for 10 months, not starting, because you put an additive in it not intended for CVT? My suggestion would be to form a relationship with a mechanic and let them work on your car going forward.

How do u check the transmission in a 2012 maxima. Do i warm up the car turn it off nd then check it. Or do i check with the car on

The car must be running, fully warmed up and on a level surface. Check the level with the CVT in 'Park'. A flat parking lot is usually the easiest place to check it.

Wow! Thats a ton of miles on the original fluid (I shouldn't be talking I have a normal automatic transmission with almost 260000 miles on the og fluid). Yes you definitely want to get that changed out.

Did you have any problems out of it when you changed the fluid and filter. I’ve heard about the transmission going bad afterwards. How many miles is on yours. I have a 2014 maxima with 96,000 miles and I’m so afraid of changing the fluids

No problems afterwards and it seems to operate smoother. I would be much more concerned with NOT changing the fluid. From what I've read, not changing the fluid in a transmission and then FLUSHING it supposedly causes problems. The flushing is supposed to be the problem. I'm not sure I believe that. Draining and refilling, as well as a filter replacement, will remove the particles that are suspended in the fluid. The particles are from the friction materials due to normal wear. The trans fluid also breaks down over time, similar to engine oil. I would think about it like changing engine oil and filter. You wouldn't want to risk damaging it by not changing the oil, would you? Just my opinion, though. Hope this helps you!

Honestly just change it . It’s better than not to and run into damages done to the belt . I’ve changed mine yesterday 2009 maxima with 158k miles. It drives soo much smoother and with a. Peace of mind of just changing the fluid an filter knowing it’s gonna make it last

Idk but the gas sucks ALOT . I need to get a smaller car . So for 3500$ if it all drives fine and the cel says just that it shouldn’t be too bad

The drain/refill was done on a 7th generation which is the car in the thumbnail, so yes, it should be identical. I don't have a way to know if there were specification updates either to the fluid or filter by Nissan after this model was produced. You can verify that the filter is the same by checking www.nissanpartsdeal.com/ by searching for "transmission filter". You can verify that the fluid is compatible and meets the specification by looking in your owners manual specification and then checking the fluid manufacturer's website.

@@javiervargas3461 You're very welcome. I looked into whether or not there is a filter in the pan. The parts guy at the local Nissan dealer could not provide a part number and neither did the website link that I provided to you. The only filter I found is the external one. After looking at some videos of tear downs of Nissan CVTs on YT, it appears there is a screen inside the pan, but no filter. You might want to drop the pan just to get the last bit of fluid out. I didn't feel the need, as it could only be a small amount of fluid left in there and didn't want to have to reseal it with a gasket(which I didn't have) or RTV. If you do drop it, please let us all know what you find. Hope this helps you.

One more question.. How can I check if the oil has any metal shaving my auto has 118 000 miles on it and never got a transmission fluid change 🤔 and it's supposed to get one every 30 000 right

Isn't there a filter inside pan? Why not at least take pan off and clean debris from pan and magnet in pan?

Many other people have asked the same question. There isn't a replacement filter available for inside the CVT. You can take the pan off if you feel the need. I've done that. There usually isn't much there.

When I spoke to two different Nissan parts departments they told me that the only thing listed as a replacement part is the external filter. In other YT videos I've seen of teardowns of the Maxima CVT, there was only a screen inside. I haven't taken off the pan to look. It's possible there are different versions of this CVT. Possibly one of them has an internal filter. My understanding is that the next generation of Maximas have an internal filter. I'm thinking that CVT is different as it uses different fluid also. When I change the fluid the next time, I will drop the pan, and make a video.

Thanks for the positive comment! I'm not sure about a trans cooler as I've only ever used them on my pickup, for towing, and a racecar. I'd suggest adding an oil temp gauge to the return line to see if it gets over 200F. If it does, a cooler would be a good idea. Something to be aware of: Another commenter indicated that the factory service manual suggests replacing the fluid every 15K(!) miles, which seems kind of excessive. I don't have access to the FSM, so I have no way to verify that. If you do decide to put a cooler on your Maxi, please post a video so we can see how it's done!

I've checked with several Nissan dealers. They told me that the only filter available is the external filter. I've also tried to find it in the aftermarket-NAPA, AutoZone, Advanced, and even Amazon and Home Depot. No one seems to have it. If you find it, let us know, PLEASE!

Thanks for watching! I think that 3.75 quarts (in my car; others added 4 quarts per the comments section) is 3.55 liters. 4 Quarts is equal to 3.75 liters. I'd buy 4 liters if that's how they sell it near you. You might have a little bit left over if you don't spill any...lol. BTW-where are you located?
