in this video i discussed How to Calculate Startup Resistor or startup Resistance or bootstrap resistor or VCC resistor or Rstartup. video language is Urdu / Hindi Language
to Design SMPS Switch Mode Power Supply. it is useful for calculation to design switch mode power supply (SMPS) for current mode controller using UC3842, uc3843, uc3844, uc3845 or KA3845 or KA3842 or KA3843 or KA3844
or any current mode smps which uses external mosfet to give a UVLO upper limit threshold charging at vcc capacitor. it provides a limited current of 0.5mA to 1mA to charge hold-up capacitor, when ic monitors that the voltage are at UVLO-ON threshold, then the IC takes soft start to drive transformer, so we take output at secondary and vcc / auxiliary / bias winding, which further provides operating current to the ic at 17mA

thank you sir for the wonderful explanation, i have some doubts. can you please reply 1. I have calculated the resistor as you taught and applied it to the circuit, I found the PD between the -ve end of the capacitor and the endpoint of the resistor is 260v(approx). is it correct? 2. please guide me on how will I choose the capacitor.

Hi, I am finding that ic like top256yn does not need startup resistor. Drain pin itself function for soft start. Am I correct?

Sir, calculated value of resistor aur practically used value of resistor me itna antar kyo aa raha... ? Agar 220 k, 1 W ka resistor bhi lagaya to vah over current se heatup hokar burn out ho jaayega.. .. pl. Explain in detail please...

there is something short circuit in secondary side, check some diode, capacitor, open connection, or check vcc capacitor
