You are very fortunate to have 3 Golden Retrievers. We had one and she died very young from cancer. We found out that the North American Goldens have a very high cancer rate. We now have an English Cream Golden Retriever and he is doing fine. He is going on ten years old. Goldens are some of the most gentle dogs one could have. I have to smile every time I see those three on your video.

Your DET CORD comment brought to mind a UH-1D, "HUEY" load of Army Combat Engineers I had rappel about 125 ft into a tree covered space on the side of a mountain in Vietnam back in 1966. Four of them had large roles of DET CORD over their shoulder, chainsaws and fuel, along with their combat gear. Their mission was to make a Landing Zone (LZ) on the side of the mountain so we could extract a Recon Team. Forty five minutes later I was back there to see logs stacked up for a landing pad of about 60X60! Most of the trees were imploded by wraps of DET CORD; in a crosshatch pattern. Pulled out the Engineers first and then two more ships flew in to extract the "Pony Team/Recon" troops. Saw a lot of that cord used for many other "hover holes" we flew into. Combat Engineers were fantastic!!

I haven't been on a blasting job in a couple years but I loved working with the blasters !!! The last job was 125 acres all ledge and blasted 2x a day 6 days a week for a while . Seem both methods used and I prefer the 209 primer over the electric .we had to shut everything down and disconnect the battery master switch on all the equipment and crushers with remote controls because they were fearful the radio frequency could cross and you press a button to turn on the crusher and it could set off the charge .

Hello Mike & Hunter. FYI your Firewood Bucket, if you want using "EXPANDED WIRE," (hole-diameter depends on what makes you feel warm & Fuzzy,) for sake of argument 1" in. dia. holes, just have one cut to the dimensions of the bottom of the bucket. To hold the piece to the bucket, in the front use say a 3/16" in. thick (min.) flat bar (2-3" in. min. wide) full length of the bucket. Place flat bar on top of the "EXPANDED WIRE," at the front as much as possible, drill 3 (three) holes {3/8" in. dia. min. for bolts & nuts} in the flat bar. One hole approx. each end and one hole approx. dead center (depending on location of bucket teeth.) I would recommend that the drilled holes fall center approx. between bucket teeth, then cut 3 (three) pieces of the same flat bar long enough to act as a washer to overlap the full width of the bucket teeth, on the underside of the bucket. Now that you made a Custom "EXPANDED WIRE," Bucket retaining tool, you just change the "EXPANDED WIRE," to a diameter that meets your needs. Bob's your uncle. FYI: "EXPANDED WIRE," comes in many different diameters.

Good morning Mike. A great (and in my experience better) alternative to anchor seal is buying gallon jugs of Elmer’s glue and mix 50/50 with water. I do that for logs that I’ll eventually make into bowls. Anchor seal gets pricey in volume and latex paint is definitely not very affective. Paint is better than nothing, but lets the moisture escape too fast. Have a great day.

The dirt pile. Dirt sitting in the woods for time immoral. But wait, you made a road. You saved top soil. You have the equipment to sift/clean it effortlessly. The dogs came out, and loved playing and resting on the sifted, fresh soil. Then that dirt that was destined for eternity in the woods is now a part of the homes beauty. So simple, but made a nice video. I sat and enjoyed the entire video that was fresh and wholesome and just good for my heart. Stacking the measured saw logs, beautiful!! Love the red seal. I don't mind the Simply Safe promotion either. I use Blink. Much cheaper, but serves my need. I think everyone needs that security these days. I know you're surrounded by family and friends, but still, I'd like to see Melissa carrying protection when out by herself in the woods. I'm sitting here sipping coffee w plans to go nowhere, but my EDC is on me regardless. When i get dressed it goes on same as my wallet and keys and pocket knife. It will be laid on the night stand when i change into pj's tonight. Habit. Always. Mike, do the numbers; youtubers in Pennsylvania and other states interview street durg users. Asked how much their addiction cost per day, they all say $150. These homeless, unemployed, addicts, get $150 a day for drugs. On one street, say Kensington, there's 500, 600 addicts visible from your car. Where are 600 people, strung out on fentanyl, robbing people, businesses or homes of $150 per day??? Talk about a crime epidemic!!! But, there's no crime epidemic. So who's giving these addicts $150 every day?? No one. But they are getting their fentenyl (i don't know the spelling). That drug is made in China and shipped here and not sold, but given to Americans as an act of war by China!!! Do the math!!! If i had to spend $150 a day...... Thanks Mike for today's video.👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲

The other day I was looking for alternatives to anchorseal. That stuff is a bit pricey. I came across something called glue size. It’s a 2:1 ratio of water to old glue. Paint on end let it set for a minute then paint again. Apparently a lot of wood workers do this they say it works better than paint. Will be giving it a try.

@Mike you can use LogSavers on logs that are splitting to save them. (Note : Will not damage saw blades or veneer knives ) Many loggers use S-Irons as well, because they are much faster than painting. Depending on what time of year it is, The logs will try to split RIGHT! away. We can put them in faster than you can open a can of paint and they work great out in the bush in the dirt and rain. BTW, Nothing wrong with paint. I just like to send them to the mill unsplit or no more split than they have to be.

So many people in need, that’s great you are doing that. Are you sure it wasn’t Eva bringing them back in the house, lol

A couple of ideas for your crop issues, Deer whistlers mounted on poles might keepthe deer out, and for the waterbissue, how about using a solar still to generate water for the area?

My dad was a blaster in wv for right at 40 years and at one time, if you was a blaster in southern wv, chances are pretty good that my dad was who taught you or you at least worked along side him at some point. That non-el blaster was a common tool in his chest over the years.

I did demo in the Army back in the 80's. We would rap det cord around trees to drop them. Amazing how much explosive power it has when concentrated. We did a lot of stuff with explosives that wasn't actually textbook but a lot of fun.😂❤
