Also a little talk about some custom vise jaws that have helped me center work in the travels.

If that is a Kurt knockoff vice you should be able to move the vice jaw to the back of the fixed jaw. Just unbolt the 2 large worn head screws that hold it on and swap it to the other side. I do that all the time to increase the clamping length of the vices at work.

those are some nice rapids my dude. i have pretty small nema34 steppers so i can only get 75 ipm out of them if i want the machine to be reliable. as for the vise, another option is to use a self-centering vise

Dušan Pešić cheers, Dusan! I’ll take a look at those vises.... don’t think I’ve ever heard of them.

nice! those are some monster jaws and I think thats a damn good idea! I am wondering how much they flex based on how far that fixed edge is from the mounting point... is the bottom of the jaw (that sits on top of the fixed jaw) milled flat to not have any gap between the jaw's tope face and the bottom of the jaw? keep postin up I love your videos!

At least the price is right... as much as I dislike it, I’m still using it to make good parts.

@@christianlords1340 That is probably the best idea. Are you going to convert to CNC?
