The camera work on Cadel Evans in this clip is the best I've seen in cycling.

This was the first time I respected Cadel Evans strategy. All other courses he was too passive. He's now favourite to win the Tour de France 2011.

showed in this race that he is good enough if he has a go. Up the mountains on the tour de france is the next biggest challenge for him, needs to show he can do exactly the same thing if he to gain more admiration.

And to think the Australian team manager selected Simon gerrans for the team leader that day after cadel almost won the Vuelta

@numero96 I think you're a bit harsh on Cancellara, the final 10 mins of the race is a bit of a climb in case you haven't noticed, This course was more suited for riders like Evans to ride it out in the hills and beat everyone, its his job to climb well. Cancellara on the other hand is a Time trialist, having a few extra pounds in him so that he can produce the amount of power that he does in a time trial, he's not the best climber by a long shot.

@numero96 I think Cancellara was out of it as soon as they went through the climb, no body wanted to do the work to chase the lead group, in the video you mostly see Cancellara doing most of the pulling up front.... can't expect a non climber to have the power to both chase the lead, and over power Cadel on the final bit... its pretty hard to achieve without support from other riders.

One of the rare displays of agressive riding from Cadel, sadly happens once in a blue moon

@@haribolollies he was clean and more talented than a lot of his competition. Was a class act since he started mountain bike racing more committed than any other Australian rider.

You'll find they all cheat. You can't win clean. You can't even compete clean: the effect of drugs is that dramatic.

@numero96 also I don't know if you saw the Olympic road race in Beijing, in the final stages Cancellara chased down a 2-3 min lead group on his* own in the tunnel for the final 5km and did a sprint finish to gain a third place finish, now that's impressive, don't you think?
