Thanks for your video! Oddly enough my 2011 GG6 has a different transmission, I guess. It is the CVT and the bolt at 2:44 is blocked by the housing. I am still trying to figure out how to get to this one. Apart from that, I really appreciate your effort!

Gosh I wish I had the know-how to do this. As much as I’d love to DIY this I’m probably just gonna go buy a new starter and have my local mechanic swap it out for me lol

Ahhh yes, the sweet, sweet, sounds of burning rice... I'm actually surprised the starter died, I've had a new Honda's way older than that pile with the OG starter... Maybe your pal does a lot of starting and stopping?

Hey, so I am getting the cold start / starter hanging up. I was probably going to buy the reman at the dealer ($300) because the new one is $700! The job looks enough of a pain in the rear that I don't want to buy a cheap aftermarket and have to do it again in a year. A lot of the aftermarket's come with lifetime though. That makes me lean more toward an aftermarket with lifetime (because the cost will be one time). Any advice on what is the better scenario? My fear is that I get a reman from the dealer and it goes bad in a few years. The original starter lasted a long time (but initially didn't see much use). Any advice is appreciated. Or what aftermarket might be high enough quality?

@@RustBeltAuto Hey, how did you get the starter in the hole??? I seem to have interference. I measured diameter of old vs new starter outer ring. Both appear to be same to good precision. Is starter supposed to press-fit into hole by hand action alone, or do you press it in with bolts??? I have been tearing my hands in the dark for two hours now. Both the connector does not seem to engage all the way on the RockAuto starter, and it does not want to go in the hole as well. Please help!!!!!
