Love the pheatom and all the engineering that went in to making it, an amazing machine seriously underated, sadly was too Passat like to sell for the money they needed for it.

if you can find a sub 80k mile example that has service history I think you could do worst! the owner of this one has had very few issues since purchasing.

Don't buy this car it will burn a hole in your wallet cause high fuel consumption, high insurance /tax, lots of costly repairs and high depreciation.

Do you have one? This one is high to tax (circa £560 or something). However, the owner reports 30-35mpg and no issues since ownership. He picked it up with less than 70k miles on it for £5,000

@@toms_garage yeah I do unfortunately. Want to know something specific? Tax is around 540€ /year, insurance is hard to tell, depends on your specific circumstances. Diesel milage is around 9-10l/100km without speeding. 7.x is doable with like 120km/h constant driving on the Autobahn, but still pretty high. The worst are the repairs and depreciation. My car is a 2009 and was around 28k€ when bought 2014 with 40k km. 8 years later I guess I can be happy if I get 10k€ with 135k km on the clock. That's more than 2000€ per year. Repairs: front axle bushings need to be replaced already. That's a given for every Phaeton. Otherwise you'll need new tires every 10k km or so (the tires are worn on both flanks to the metal, the middle is still perfectly fine) 1500 to 2000 job (air struts need to be removed). My electronic hatch release broke. Replacement part alone almost 500€. Broke again after 1 year. You can change this yourself, otherwise another 1000€ at the VW dealer. Front/rear rotors + pads VW wanted to charge me 2500€. Bought aftermarket parts (Brembo 440€) and let a friend do it for like 400€. If an air strut fails its 2000€. One. Car has four. My air con failed last year, new condenser was necessary. Was around 700 at a local shop, at VW this would have been around 2000€ I guess. The doors WILL rust, so be prepared to have them redone at some point. (issue is the chrome lines that have metal "nails" that connect them to the aluminium door - - > galvanic corrosion.) Also the plastic inlays in the doors on the bottom will need to be replaced, because the metal inlays rust and they start to stick out. That's not everything that needed to be replaced. There are other issues I haven't experienced yet I guess thanks to low milage. But be prepared to face this or other issues, especially if you are interested in the bigger engines. Stay away from this car. Also the tech is pretty old compared to modern cars, it's almost laughable. My car doesn't even close the rear view mirrors automatically when the car gets closed. I need to turn a knob manually every time. My wife's Polo does this already (2015 model).

Whats your problem, did you mummy not love you enough or daddy loves you too much? Bit of a cheek coming from a faceless channel with no videos. Dont like his videos then dont watch!

Its brave enough to stand up anywhere infront of a camera, never mind putting yourself on youtube! He is doing his best to put these videos out for people to enjoy, never mind being being trolled by some little boy behind a keyboard!

They still couldn't make a decent car!! Shonky shitboxes (like all VAG products) that rust, fall apart and break down all the time!!
