2008 Range Rover (L322) Review

What does a Range Rover that's old enough to drive feel like in 2024? In this video, I drive a 2008 Land Rover Range Rover HSE to find out. This video also marks the one year anniversary of my KZread channel, so thank you for your support over the past year! Thank you for supporting my passion for driving everything I can and telling you everything about it. Enjoy the video!

Dude, you bring such a unique presence to the genre! So many - the lion's share - are loud or caustic. You bring out the pleasure, the simplicity, the peace of mind, the true joy a car can be and bring. Don't try to imitate the loud obnoxious creators - be you; you're such a unique voice!

Really appreciate this! I want people to watch my content for the cars, not the driver.

Why does the roof felt always sag after a while at the front of older Land Rovers? 🤦‍♂️

What makes you think it would be more unreliable than any other car?

Land Rover has a reputation for poor reliability and their models generally demand more maintenance and repairs. To be fair, this one (the L322) with the JLR 4.4, has a more dependable reputation than other models.

I have a 2006 Range rover sport with the jag v8. bought it 5 years ago with 90,000 miles. I tow a 6000 lb trailer and the land rover towed more than a suburban that would actually cost significantly mbcore on the used market. Its our only vehicle and now has 225,000 miles. In terms of repairs we had all four air shocks replaced for a total installed cost of $500. I replaced a hub and bearing for $80, and had the waterpump replaced for $200 total. I was so nervous due to their reputation but I cannot believe how good this truck has been. It doesnt get stuck in our michigan winters, gets 20 mpg, and We took a 2000 mile camping trip last summer pulling the camper with no issues. just stay away from the bmw motor and keep looking til you find a cared for example. Luckily when someone buys an $80,000 vehicle, they tend to have the money to have it maintained. In all honesty, I change the oil every spring and thats about it.

Because a long lost friend of a man his uncle once met heard an acquaintance say that they are unreliable.

This truck is a unibody the first ever in an SUV actually.

Wow, big whoops on my end. Totally made that assumption that it was body on frame and that the unibody wasn’t until later. Thanks for the correction! That would make sense why it drove like a unibody 🤦‍♂️

Just to make a correction to your video, I'm sorry Jimmy but this is NOT a Range rover 4.4 with the jaguar engine. They ran from 2010 to 2012 and had an 8 speed gearbox. The engine and gearbox was so good they used it in the next generation, the L405. The car you are driving in your video is an L322 3.6. That had as you say only 6 gears and was naturally aspirated. The 4.4 engine was sequential. Hope that's helps you out. Loving the video BTW. All the best dude.

Hey I appreciate the comment, but this Range Rover does have the JLR 4.4 V8 with a six-speed auto. I made sure to do my homework. Glad you enjoyed the video!
