I just ran into the same problem with my 09 Nissan Altima yesterday on my way to work it drove perfectly fine to the gas station then when I filled up and drove off it was stuck in 1st. I gave up on it until today then I ran my diagnostic computer on it and seen the code it shot me looked it up and your video came up along with a hell of a lot of other ones but out of every video I seen you explained everything down to the very end so easily a teenager could pull this off I promise. Now I've been working on cars and trucks and anything else that requires tools to be used on for more than 30 years but I've never done anything on a CVT transmission in my life and this will be my 1st time but thanks to your help im now sure I can pull it off 100% now. Thanks man for your time you spent on making this video you posted on KZread your very much appreciated I promise. Thank you for providing this helpful video! It enabled me to successfully repair my 2008 Nissan Rogue. The tutorial's instructions on removing the bolts from the valve body were accurate. I took the extra step of labeling all the screws from the valve. I strongly advise wearing protective goggles, as it can be quite a messy job. Based on my experience, I also recommend labeling the transmission pan bolts to avoid any mix-ups, which I encountered. Additionally, I applied silicone to the pan and allowed it to cure for 24 hours before adding the CVT oil. I measured the amount of oil drained and added the same quantity. After starting the engine, I shifted between gears to ensure the CVT fluid circulated through the transmission. Initially, I noticed a bit of sluggishness in acceleration for the first few minutes, but after about five minutes, the vehicle ran smoothly without any issues. Many thanks and God bless you for sharing this invaluable video!

So I have a 2011 Nissan Altima with 210K. Somewhere after 90K it started to do that (not going fast even with high RPM's especially in weather under 60 degrees F). I saw a blog and someone stated to simply warm it up for 1 minute or so, then shut it off, count to 30 seconds, then start it back up and drive. It worked. I just hated that I could never just turn it on and drive lol. But now that I see this video I think I may be changing that step motor soon. Thank you so much for posting.

2010 Nissan Rouge. Code P1778. At first I was upset because my first crack at changing the step motor was unsuccessful. Car would only shift into Drive,No Reverse. Watched your video again and disassembled the valve body for a second time. Possible problem, I left a washer off of a metal cylinder tube that was center top of transmission, it fell off and I didn’t know where it belonged. I also think my Allen wrench was to short to keep the mechanism on the valve body in position to get full gear functioning. Second time around I used a really thin and long flat head screw driver. Thanks Again For your very descriptive video and much needed and appreciated pointers.

I'm amazed on how you explained everything so clearly. My altima 09 transmission has been acting up for 2years now. I used to get winning noise coming from the engine bay after driving at high speeds in the highway for more than 45min. All the "experts" told me I needed a new car or new transmission. A simple cvt oil change fixed the issues for 10k+ miles, now I'm getting engine whine again. I also realized that the mechanic did not change the filter. So I'm going to do another cvt fluid change and get a new filter. I've been adding Bar's Leaks: Super Transmission fix. It helped a little but I still get the engine whine. I don't get any codes from the transmission so I'm not sure if I need to change the step motor. Issues I get: Stuttering while driving, occasional winning, When driving for long I get total engine loss (haven't got that since the first cvt fluid change)

I have a 2010 maxima and the description at the beginning of the video where your flooring it and going no where similar problem but my code is p0746 pressure control solenoid “A” stuck off so I’ll be replacing the whole valve body that comes with all new solenoids. I searched for DAYS for solenoids it was way faster just getting the valve body and not to expensive $150 so it’s coming in Wednesday so I hope it works my buddy who worked at Nissan dealership told me to start pricing out new/used transmissions well I’ll spend 150 to see if it works because I’ve watched 4/5 videos with all my problems and it fixed it so fingers crossed

I also have a 2012 altima with the P1778 code, I was also trouble free til I just hit 200k 3 weeks ago. Since then I've had the shifting problems and high RPMs. Changed the MAF sensor and it helped for a day or 2 then back to the problems. It seems to give me more problems during the day when its hot out. I've never changed the trans fluid....would this job be recommended with the new fluid and all?
