2008 Lotus Elise SC - Supercharged Mid Engine Monster! (POV Binaural Audio)

This 2008 Lotus Elise SC is a supercharged version of the light weight high revving Elise. Adding boost without adding weight has made the car more composed and given additional mid range grunt.

    Had the pleasure of spotting a silver one in Downtown Atlanta. The thing just looks so tiny compared to every car around it. Hell, the Land Cruiser next to it might as well be a planet. Truly gained a newfound sense of appreciation for the Elise and Exige sisters. Phenomenal driving machines. In a world full of Miatas, I’d take an Elise

    13:44 I absolutely love what you said here. Keep an open mind. Don't limit yourself to just a specific segment of cars that you find particularly enjoyable, be it Euro, JDM, trucks, or whatever. There's no reason to limit yourself to just "good" cars, either - even a ratty old Impala might have something random you really like about it. You never know. I'm a computer enthusiast as well, and some of my favorite computers have been the uninteresting slow laptops that our grandparents somehow always end up with. Try everything. :)

    That is not a car, it's a go-kart on steroids! 220 HP in something as light and tightly tuned is heaven in the turns. Tedward, the Elise and that Turbo Mk.1 GTi are my favorite kind of car. light ,nimble, and just enough HP they embarrass most bigger cars with 500 HP.

    These cars define driving thrills. Driving a Lotus fast, especially on winding roads, is something everyone who loves sports cars needs to experience. I used to have a 1973 Lotus Europa John Player Special, which looked stunning in the black and gold it came in. The twin cam Lotus 4 cylinder was an absolute screamer, and like the Elise it was a very light car, so it really flew. The handling in that car was beyond anything else I’ve ever driven, it was like the steering wheel was connected to my brain. Colin Chapman knew what he was doing.

  • @juryo_
    @juryo_2 жыл бұрын

    I actually really like the cabin vibration noise when going fast. Adds a lot of drama and thrill even though you aren't going super fast in like a McLaren or something. Definitely something thats missing in modern sports cars although probably for good reason.

    Mine's a NA with a tune that lowers the high lift cam cross over and adds a little mid range torque. I love the NA engine but I'm sure the Supercharged car is great. The power of the car is just a small part of the overall experience of this car. The feel and incredible agility (and resulting handling) of the 2000 pound weight is the car's defining characteristics.

    I have an 08 Elise SC in yellow.. it’s superb. The 2ZZ Toyota engine has the dual high lift cams ( I think Yamaha had an input !?) which affords the high revs… which the supercharger smooths out into a really good linear ‘pull’. This wasn’t on the later Mk 3 2ZR engines sadly, due to emissions probably . Still plenty of whine from the charger - it’s the pinnacle of the Elise engines in my very biased opinion 😂

    Where else would you put them? In the steering wheel rim? Worse in nearly every way IMO - more complex & costly, ruins the feel of the wheel in the hand by putting shiny plastic bits on it, makes the wheel heavier which reduces steering feel, etc. I've never had a problem seeing them in my peripheral vision on my Elise SC. There's plenty of things wrong with the car, but that isn't one of them.
