Yes you can see earlier videos of Heidfeld not really aggressively downshifting. He did this even at Prost in 2000

Only because they couldn’t police driver aids properly so they brought them back and slowly banned them until the standard ECU was brought in.

The FIA couldn't police the driver aids properly thats why they allowed them again from San Marino 2001 and slowly banned each driver aid until the standard ECU came in from 2008, allowing traction control to be banned and enforced properly.

i dont like how he use downshift. feels lazy. i like downshifts from 7 to 1 gear in 0.5 sec
