2007 Pontiac Solstice: Wookie Drives 16
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Near its death, Pontiac doubled down on being GM's sporty brand. A fullsize RWD sports sedan, a reborn GTO, and a small roadster in the same vein of the Miata.
This is the Pontiac Solstice, a forgotten sports car that failed to propel the brand from GM's bankruptcy.

These cars are coming back out strong so many people is going to want one of these cars they have their own look and own style I love this car
I found an '06 in Green. 40,000 miles / $8000.00 Solid sa a rock. None of the cheapness he refers to.
i just bought an 06 with 12k miles on it last week. i love the car
I love these cars.
My bet is these will become collectors cars for those lucky enough to find very low mileage ones. I think the manual transmissions GXP and Redlines are the one to go up in value. Mine is already worth way more than I paid for it after 7 years of ownership but I did get a steal on it when I bought it.

I just bought a 2007 Red 5 speed with 51,000 miles....for $6,800.....runs great, not real fast with 177hp with the Ecotec 2.4 but FUN to drive and gets a lot of attention with the top down.

@Lucky Sin Luciano That depends on what's important to YOU. Not roomy but if you're single probably doesn't matter much, I used it as a weekend car but people use them as dailys.....mpg isn't bad, just not a Corolla or Civic mpg.

I have a ‘06 with 20,500 miles, and climbing EXTREMELY SLOWLY.
I have a 2006 it's a lot faster then most people think I kick ass a lot with my 5 speed manual, 40,000 miles still looks like new, can't beat this car, I also have a S Class
I just got a 2007 soltice from my sister who passed away. This car is so much fun to drive. May have to sell it . triple black automatic transmission 44000 miles runs like new . maybe driven 2000 to 3000 miles a year. It has great eye appeal .

I kind of wish this Turo rental was red or Yellow, as I feel these cars look a lot better. But yeah, other than the interior it was a fun as hell car.

With it being an auto, if it is the base engine I would sell it. If it's the GXP I'd keep it if you can. The base looks great but just doesn't have the engine to match. The GXP on the other hand with less than $800 in mods embarrasses far more expensive cars. At that performance level you will want to keep high performance tires on it which you will not regret.

Had a 2007 which was totalled by a new driver running a red light. So much fun to drive , never had a car that could so many compliments Compromises yes but worth it Just bought a 2009 from a dealer far away and waiting for it to be shipped Owned mustangs, fiero and other nice cars but solitce still my favorite and with low production numbers, this car stands out and gets lots of positive reactions
I wish these reviews would include the fact that GM did offer a turbo upgrade package that would take the GXP from the stock 260HP/290TQ to 290HP/340TQ (Manual). The upgrade was available through Pontiac dealerships and also maintained the factory warranty when it was available.

I actually cut quite a bit from this video. It was originally gonna track to be over 20 minutes when I originally recorded the voice over, and I felt that was way too long to sit through.

The fact that it's a 2 seater and the roll bars behind each seat makes it look like a little bat mobile. The car has people asking me what kind of car it is all the time. It's the most fun American car to drive for the price . A little kid asked me if I was Batman workout my mask on , lol Everyone wants a ride or to drive in it. Sadly I had to tell this little kid no I'm not Batman. lol
I have an '06 in Ming blue. It is a beauty. Transmission from 2nd to 3rd sucks but otherwise a dream car. Love the fact that the roof is a simple mechanical op with no motor to go wrong. Smart that Pontiac 'shared' parts IMO. That tiny rear spoiler add-on and GHP hardtop do nothing for this otherwsie perfectly styled sportster.
I had. An 07 2.4 with automatic, but I thought it was a great car! Today I bought an 07 2.0 turbo 5 speed manual, i anticipate it will be just. As great!
I have the 2007 Pontiac solstice gxp with 50 thousand miles with stage 3 upgrade and tune.
People always gripe about hard plastics in cars, but they never say what they’d rather have instead.😕
The solstice your showing is put together by a couple of five years old kids.i have 07 and she's tight no gap
All manufacturers use shared componants to save money....it would be EXTREMELY expensive to TOTALLY use all new parts for any car.
Nice style of review! Good footage! Intresting info! nice character!! Thanks!!
This particular vehicle being reviewed looks to have been high mileage and not taken care of. Probably saw a lot of snow too! Best looking car I have ever had!
I had no idea there was a Daewoo made a version of this and the coop looks so much better I have never seen one in person . If I bought one it would absolutely be the coupe or A convertible with a hard top conversion. That’s assuming someone makes a conversion
A Miata on steroids. Beautiful car. Miata is always the answer more reliable but not as eye catching.
your driving an automatic, try the manual.
Why does he have to raise his voice so much?
This is a great review of a car that has been through hell. You did a good job otherwise.
The manual 2.4 has 177HP and 168Ft lbs Torque...the Auto trans sucks and feels MUCH slower.
Looks like this Solstice was a flood car. Very bad example.
The 2.4 is 177 HP and 168 Ft Lbs, not 173/163....I have a 2007. If you drive a 5 Speed manual it feels faster.
You don't know what the funk you're talking about.
My wife loves the one I bought her.
This car looks to have been abused and neglected.
Such a bad example of a Solstice. That car has obviously been torn apart and put back together....badly.. if not had been in an accident. Gap lines on the car DID NOT look like that and panels do not "just feel like they are going to fall off". And the funniest thing that you did not even mention that is a real issue for tall people is the window switches. You played with a crappy beat to death base model.

That was my thought. I still want to drive a GXP model. It's a fun car, but yeah that interior left a lot to be desired.

Why are you trying to sound like that other car channel?? Quite annoying.. just give your honest review 🤷♂️🤷♂️ and NEWS FLASH most cars manufacturers part share, you know how much money it would cost to make every part new?? cmon dude🤷♂️🙄🙄
Those sales figures are WRONG. They made NO Solstices in 2005....First year was 2006. Only made from 2006 to July 2010.

The sticker on the door jamb of my 2006 Solstice states that it was made in 2005 in Wilmington Delaware. From wikipedia......"The Pontiac Solstice is a sports car that was produced by Pontiac. Introduced at the 2004 North American International Auto Show, the Solstice roadster began production in Wilmington, Delaware, starting in mid-2005 for the 2006 model year."
