2007 Pontiac Solstice: Wookie Drives 16

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Near its death, Pontiac doubled down on being GM's sporty brand. A fullsize RWD sports sedan, a reborn GTO, and a small roadster in the same vein of the Miata.
This is the Pontiac Solstice, a forgotten sports car that failed to propel the brand from GM's bankruptcy.

My bet is these will become collectors cars for those lucky enough to find very low mileage ones. I think the manual transmissions GXP and Redlines are the one to go up in value. Mine is already worth way more than I paid for it after 7 years of ownership but I did get a steal on it when I bought it.

I just bought a 2007 Red 5 speed with 51,000 miles....for $6,800.....runs great, not real fast with 177hp with the Ecotec 2.4 but FUN to drive and gets a lot of attention with the top down.

@Lucky Sin Luciano That depends on what's important to YOU. Not roomy but if you're single probably doesn't matter much, I used it as a weekend car but people use them as dailys.....mpg isn't bad, just not a Corolla or Civic mpg.

With it being an auto, if it is the base engine I would sell it. If it's the GXP I'd keep it if you can. The base looks great but just doesn't have the engine to match. The GXP on the other hand with less than $800 in mods embarrasses far more expensive cars. At that performance level you will want to keep high performance tires on it which you will not regret.

So much fun to drive , never had a car that could so many compliments Compromises yes but worth it Just bought a 2009 from a dealer far away and waiting for it to be shipped Owned mustangs, fiero and other nice cars but solitce still my favorite and with low production numbers, this car stands out and gets lots of positive reactions

I wish these reviews would include the fact that GM did offer a turbo upgrade package that would take the GXP from the stock 260HP/290TQ to 290HP/340TQ (Manual). The upgrade was available through Pontiac dealerships and also maintained the factory warranty when it was available.

The fact that it's a 2 seater and the roll bars behind each seat makes it look like a little bat mobile. The car has people asking me what kind of car it is all the time. It's the most fun American car to drive for the price . A little kid asked me if I was Batman workout my mask on , lol Everyone wants a ride or to drive in it. Sadly I had to tell this little kid no I'm not Batman. lol

I have an '06 in Ming blue. It is a beauty. Transmission from 2nd to 3rd sucks but otherwise a dream car. Love the fact that the roof is a simple mechanical op with no motor to go wrong. Smart that Pontiac 'shared' parts IMO. That tiny rear spoiler add-on and GHP hardtop do nothing for this otherwsie perfectly styled sportster.

Such a bad example of a Solstice. That car has obviously been torn apart and put back together....badly.. if not had been in an accident. Gap lines on the car DID NOT look like that and panels do not "just feel like they are going to fall off". And the funniest thing that you did not even mention that is a real issue for tall people is the window switches. You played with a crappy beat to death base model.
