This contrasts with other mechanical transmissions that only allow a few different distinct gear ratios to be selected. The flexibility of a CVT allows the driving shaft to maintain a constant angular velocity over a range of output velocities.

Very nice, my girlfriend and I just purchased this car for her yesterday, sort of almost on point with my infiniti. Great car, same color and everything.

My Dad got a red 2005 rental Maxima from Enterprise once. I borrowed it for the day. What a car! Throttle was touchy as heck, barely touch it and you were flying. Great brakes, handling, sound, looks, power, etc. Loved it! No way can I afford one right now though...

That's my dream car I love it :)

I'm looking at one right now for my first car and I genuinely cannot wait to get it!

There's a key in the bottom to unlock the door. Once inside, there is a slot that you put the dead remote in that allows the car to start.

Oh how much I miss the 03 Maxima.

I have the 07 SE, fully loaded. Love it!!!!

The fact a 2007 Maxima shares the identical keyfob to a 2017 Maxima is kind of sad really. Still the facelifted 07 Maxima looks a lot better than the early 04-06 versions. Above all, the interior center stack felt significantly more upscale instead of a giant slab of plastic, something the 09-14 Maxima reverted to.

i like this keyless start better than the push button cause you can still use the key if u wanted

Nice car. My 2009 Mazda CX-9 has the same key setup. If the key is within the car then you can turn the car in with the knob by the steering wheel. It has BOSE too.

@jsnevels2 Part 5 TL has Standard hill start assist. Better suspension (Technology). Larger stabilizer bar. Larger wheels. ACE body structure. More advanced Traction and power control systems. Tl is 5 inches Longer then maxima. An inch wider then maxima, TL has a larger passenger volume, Larger tow capacity. Tl has more Leg room, Shoulder room, And headroom! And Lastly, The TL 6Speed does 0-60 in 5.2 Seconds. :)

So how would you go about getting another copy of this key ... as a spare ... and im sure its not cheap

It is a nice car. I personally rather have a traditional moonroof than that glass piece going down the center. And I feel like Nissans reliability and durability’s average to above average. Not as good as Some cars but also better than so some cars.

Yes i had an 05 Maxima. The one thing about these is the transmission (04-06). And their camshaft sensors need to be bought from Nissan. The 07-08 where the most reliable ones imo. For this gen

I really dont like that Ignition part... is there anyway I can install a push to start option in the car?.. because im getting one in a couple weeks

@Zumoffj The altima 3.5 has more hp and trq . But when it's a cvt it's runs the same 1/4 and 0-60 as this maxima! Both do the 1/4 in 14.8 sec and do 0-60 in 6.3

Cruzing 93 well mine has 20 inch rims, no title loan, in great condition, no transmission or engine problems....seem to be doing good so far lol

James Amona not really the 5 speed were the problematic transmissions. Cvts didnt really have this problem a few rare cases. I have a 2005 but i want a 2007 or 8 they look sharper and the interior is a lot better too

@jsnevels2 Heres the thing. Have you driven a honda with a V6? It sounds like you have not? The J35 in the Accord V6 makes 85% of its torque at 1500 RPM. All J series motors do that. I would just like to point out that Nissan does not race anymore. Honda does, and when nissan did race... They only used the VQ35 in the 350Z from 04 to 07. Thats what i know about VQ racing.

@hehh543 I've drive the Maxima and there's nothing wrong with the transmission. I guess that's because Nissan makes the best CVTs on the market IMO

I actually had to look that up to make sure right before I posted that. For a split second I actually thought it was just stuck in gear...

I'm not big on nissan, more of a Honda guy (always have been) nissan did perfect with their old cars though ngl.

@jsnevels2 Part 6 Your WHP numbers are way wrong. I just did some research and found out that the accord EX makes 152 to the wheels. I dont know about the Altima, but numorious websites are suggesting About 133.2 WHP for the CVT, About a 26 % loss is what is happening down there. That number would make sense for the Altima doing slower 0-60's then the accord EX. Hmm :D
