Fricking genius!! My husband and I have been puzzled for a week as to what could be wrong with our car. We finally determined it was coming from this part and now after watching your video I just discovered the hoses where on backwards!!

I was having the same issue with 2005 Nissan Murano. My mobile mechanic swaps those hoses a while back when we were on the third VIAS sensor replacement with no luck. That didn't do anything either. Then we went to get the sensor and vacuum reservoir of the whole unit from a junkyard. Again we connected the hoses wrong. It was reversed at the Manifold side like exactly you mentioned you did. I was hearing the hissing noise from the VIAS sensor which was air leaking and that was Exuaest getting into the car. When I correct the hose placement the way you said the air leak went away and I don't have that exhaust smell inside the car. Another thing I wanted to mention here just before I watched your video, I watched another video where a guy explained how the choke kind of lever behind the diaphragm should move up and down when you accelerate and mine was not doing anything. But after I reversed the hoses as you said it starts moving. My check engine light went away and thank you very much for your help.

Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve. Had same issue on a client's car (04 Maxima). Not being familiar with the system, I replaced it to find I still had huge vacuum leak (25% STFT on Bank 1!). I was stumped! Couldnt find any diagrams but after going back to the drawing board, it dawned on me that the hoses must be wrong. Just now seeing this video after the fact! Signs I ignored: 1. plugging the vent side corrected leak 2. motor had "good trans" written on it in marker (must have had a swap) 3. The bolt holding the valve in was already loose when I started troubleshooting! Moral of the story, trust your gut LOL

Very good video helps too much because I changed the hoses I did not realize that a broom is upside down and that causes failures, change it and it is removed, thank you very much

For people who buy Nissan Murano; For example, used. with many miles traveled. I suggest you invest in buying to the car the most relevant sensors. This is because you are buying a car that has parts that are probably defective. Unless you want to be disappointed by problems that will arise and that will correspond to you.

I just bought a 2007 Nissan Murano today for 2900 dollars. It had 160k miles and was in great shape... All except for the fact the service engine light was on and the used car dealer couldnt tell me why, turns out... When I took it to my mechanic.... There was NO vacuum hose at all. It was completely missing..... Who knows how that happened. But tomorrow we are replacing the hose amd we will see how things go from there. 😆 lol
