2007 Lexus GS350 PCV Valve Replacement - 3.5L V6 2GR-FSE
Here's a video of how I replaced my PCV valve in my 2007 Lexus GS350. My car has 184,000 miles and I have been experiencing some excess oil consumption recently, this is my first attempt at correcting this issue. This might be helpful to other home mechanics out there. Let me know your thoughts in the comments section. Thanks for watching.

I have an 08 and what I used was a 3/4 spark plug socket with 3/8 to 1/4 reducer and a 1/4 inch drive. Fits perfectly.

Thanks for this
You are a whole blessing for this!
I used a mid length 3/8"drive 6pt 19mm Craftsman socket with a wobble extension on my 2014 IS350. Worked perfectly.
Dealer told me on my 13; GS 350 that the PCV looks worn and i should change it over the phone while car was in to change the tires. I was thinking, why would they check that? it runs fine, they are trying to upsell me right?
Hi. Thanks for the video.....Did u notice a change in the oil consumption after changing the pcv valve? Thanks
Did it help the oil consumption issue you were experiencing? I've seen other makes/models used excess oil because of a messed up pcv but don't know if these cars ever had and issue?
Thanks for the video, would you be kind and tell me what was the amount of oil consumption per miles because I’m having a similar problem with my 2009 and I have 200,000 miles on it and it’s about a quart every 1000 miles
I have the same vehicle with 105xxx, I hope this helps mine has just started consuming.
I used a 19mm deep well socket with a 10in extention. Replaced it in about 3 mins. Let see if it helps the oil Consumption

How did you get the PCV hose off? Going through hell trying to get mine off.
what else are you trying for the excess oil consumption?
How tight should the value be?
did it solve the issue ?
Great video! See any difference in oil consumption?
Your old Pcv valve still good, don’t used locktite, just use white sealant, you have worn piston rings and valves

How can you tell? I think I’m experiencing that bad rings and valve
I just did the pcv on my 2007 lexus gs 350. I used a brake tool that you use to adjust brakes to easily pry off the hose on the pcv valve. I used a 19mm crows foot to break it loose. Then a 19mm deep with 6" extension 3/8 drive to get it out. The deep socket was at an angle because of the intake manifold but no problem since it was broke loose. Then some sealant and reverse procedure not needing the crowsfoot to tighten. Next time should take 10 minutes to do. Still very little room to work in there. Hope this helps someone

What kind of symptoms were you having before replacing?

@@Mr-gf3me I had recently purchased the car with 209k miles so I changed it as a maintenance item and hoping to lower oil consumption. Past history showed an owner complained to the dealer consumption was too high. After change I use about a quart every 5k miles which is acceptable for a motor with over 200k. No idea what it was before the change if it helped alot or not

What kind of brake tool did you use to get the hose off?
@martinjay9959

@@Mr-gf3me The one you use to adjust rear drum brakes It has a flat edge that is wider than a regular screwdriver so it gives more leverage to pry the pcv hose off. If you do not have one a big flat head screwdriver could be used. The angle of the brake tool seemed to really help give leverage
I don’t see how replacing this valve would fix oil consumption issue. I see this is an old video. Has anyone done this and made a difference. ??
What wheels do you have? Looking good
Did it work?
How much was da pcv

a couple bucks. Picked mine up for $7
I tried.. I broke the hose, a. Part of it still on the PCV valve..my dad pasted away a year ago and he did everything for me, never showed me, he just wanted to do and have my company, I never liked doing this cause was never good at it, now I have all his snap on tools and have no idea how to use um, I rather pay the dealership thousands to do what ever as long as I don’t have to bother with it and even if it cost me $500 to fix this valve, thanks anyway for for your help :0
