I have an intermittent TPMS light which comes on and goes off periodically, just bought four new tires at Firestone, ouch, and after riding long distances the light will come on for awhile, but it never stays on continuously... I have a 2011 Honda CRV... Thanks again for the video...

Nice video. I have a 2009 CRV and all the TPMS are still working correctly but at least I'll know whats wrong when it finally happens. However, I doubt I will pay anything to get it fixed since I can just check tire pressures periodically.

wow, I also have an 07 blue CR-V with the rear driver sensor needing to be replaced. don't have discount tires where I live. the shop I took it to is charging $85. gonna shop around a little more to see if it can be done for less. thanks for the video!

I just had another one go in my car. It was 72 bucks to replace at Discount Tire. I could have saved myself a trip had I thought about having them checked when I had new tires put on last week. TPMS light popped on 2 days after the new tires were put on.

Tpms light does light up when tire pressure is low or the tpms sensors have issues...

Have same problem on my 2007 CRV I took it to honda dealer more than a year ago they said it would cost me $125 to fix including checking it. I said forget it. I'm still driving my car with the tpms light on, the guy (independent mechanic) who I go to for oil change told me it's nothing to worry about just keep checking the tires every now and then. I get the oil change every 3 months so they ✔ the tires.

Yes, the stealership price. Minimum labor is at least 100 bucks these days. My local Discount Tire does it for around 75 bucks. You get a whole new unit since the batteries aren't removable. Heck, just fixing a flat is around 25 bucks these days.

These TPMS cost about $40 each … my Discount Tire said they charge $10 to install since my tires came from them …

I have this issue. TPMS (not low pressure indicator) light came on when driving in the highway. I got to my destination and about 3-4 hours later I checked all tires and they were at 27 psi. Light went off after I checked the pressure so I went to calibrate all 4. Got onto the the highway again to return home and after like 20 min on highway TPMS light came on again. Is it similar to what you experienced? Could it be a faulty tire pressure sensor? Thanks

The low pressure tire indicator is the TPMS light. Check the panel on the driver side for the correct inflation of your tires. 27 is a bit low. Most tires are 30 to 32. Check your spare also. Some cars have TPMS indicators on all tires. My 2013 Highlander has a full size spare with a TPMS monitor. If a cold snap hits then they have a tendency to pop up. The batteries only last 7 to 10 years. They can't be replaced by themselves, you have to replace the entire unit for that and several other reasons. Inflate your tires to the correct rating and drive around some more. If the light doesn't go out in 15" to 20" then it could be a battery or batteries. It might even be a bad unit, but that doesn't happen often. They are pretty reliable. I also know most of the scanners shops have don't read the percentage of battery used or what amount of life might be left in the battery. It's usually alive or dead in the water.

Hello all, I have a question... in the last days i put 4 new sensors in my CR-V (US model 2008) then the nightmare begins XD...i paired the new sensors with the car, so the low pressure light starts blinking the whole time....i drove ca. 2000 kilometers and the light is still blinking...so today i try to "wake up" the sensors with the ATEQ VT55 tool and it works, the light stop blinking and shines permanently... So I increase pressure and hope the problem will be fixed, but in this moment which I increase the pressure, die pressure light goes off and the TPMS light goes on XD.... Anyone have an idea? No DTCs in the system.... Greets from Germany Update: if I Reduce the pressure a little bit, then immediately the low pressure light turns on...

My TPMS light came on, apparently because I added just a little more air than needed to two of the tires. It was only 1 psi over, but the TPMS on my 2008 CRV didn't seem to like that too much. It's always a good idea to check the spare and put air in if it's not at least close to what the placard in the doorway next to the driver seat says, though, since you won't be able to inflate it unless you keep a 12-volt tire pump or manual one in the car. I can't even imagine how long it'd take to pump up a car tire manually, though LOL

Wow..i took mine to el monte honda and the assistant manager told me i need a diagnostic done($130) to pinpoint the problem and from there they will know what parts my car needs replaced ($300 -$500). And this video shows it only cost $64.50....damn el monte nelson hondas!

Regardless of the TPMS you or someone else should routinely inspect the tires and then check the tire pressure. Problem is very few people have the means to add air if its needed. Unless their money hungry jerks the local tire shop should be happy to add some air and hand you a business card.

Can't get mine to shut off. Mine was on before I just changed all new tires and all new sensors but still no luck. Any thoughts.

May need a reset. Defective sensor?

My son has a 2011 CR-V. we've replaced all 4 TPMS wheel sensors, but the Honda dealer can't get them to synch to the TPMS control module. Is the module bad? Maybe a fuse?

The dealer doesn’t know? Wow! That’s odd. I do know the sensors can be on different frequencies. Maybe the sensors don’t match the Honda criteria based on frequency.

Thanks now I know the problem, mine is intermittent.

I had a guy tell me to cover the TPMS light up with a piece of electricians tape and keep a check on the tire pressure the old fashioned way...lol

Go to the play bar on the video. You can see at around 7:15 (which is the end of the video) is the most replayed because people want to know how to if he said how to fix it……..Not. I read online that you can take the positive cable off of the battery for 30 seconds and it will reset it.

Very educational vehicle, I have same car but in White. I just have the same problem. Doesn't sound like a big problem to me, but is not as expensive to fix like I thought it was going to be. I'll just take care of it, take it to the tire shop.

Next time, go to tire shop, request them to put in the regular valves. Put all TPMSs in glove box. Mark all units with markings (color or stripe). When one goes dead, cut out the battery, put in new battery and leave it back in the glove box. Done.

Crap so there's nothing you can do except buy new units and go to a tire place. Also I would just replace all 4 at the same time. This is like only changing one wheel bearing.

Honda tpms is the most useless thing. Doesn’t tell u which tire may be low. I have a VW TPMS which has tire pressure readings on all four. Can’t believe Honda was ok with this tpms system.
