Can you measure the fluid without disassembling the cartridge?

perfect timing on this video because I'm going to attempt this job on my 2008 cbr600rr soon. Couple of questions 1. what size is the long Allen tool for the bottom fork bolt? 2. what size fork seal driver? 3. it's not necessary to replace the bushings? my bike has like 8k miles on it so I'm assuming they will be ok. 4. I was reading an old thread and they mentioned we needed a special spring compressor tool? 5. do you have any more info on the oil filling process? thanks

Thanks for the comment. Here's some info... 1. I believe the Allen is 8mm. I did the work a little while back and the bike is no longer here to check. 2. The fork seal driver set I use from Amazon has both a large & small adjustable driver. Most bikes take the smaller one. Not sure the exact size. 3. The only reason to replace the bushings is if there's any wear on the Teflon or other surfaces. With that low miles I doubt you'll need that. 4. You only need the spring compressor on this bike to tear down the cartridges, which I don't do unless requested by the customer. Most of the time it's just replace the seals. 5. For adding/measuring fork oil level, Motion Pro makes a tool. Basically, fill the fork with an estimated amount of oil, set the tool to the right depth, and suction out any over fill. There are definitely other videos out there, but hit me up if you need help.
