    Id suggest to anyone (if they want to spend a bit more) to try finding the aluminium housing from "Simmonz Autosports". The OEM ford plastic replacement typically ends up breaking or leaking again, mostly because of how many points of failure it has. Ive had the aluminium one for almost 3 years and not single leak, comes with better gaskets and new hardware too. Its initially pricy, but worth the price. its a good alternative if you happen to be in the market and researching for a fix. Also make sure to buy it directly from "Simmonz Autosports" and not the cheap knock off ones you see on ebay or whatever, they are just as bad as the plastic ones.

    I had a couple problems wonder if you could help me -the 3 10mm bolts wouldn’t loosen up for me at all -the hose under the thermostat, the clamp locking in place is right against the metal thing to the right and I can’t get to it

    Hey there! Thanks for watching 🙏 For the bolts...u can use WD-40 and let it sit for 5 min. Then try again. U can use a cheat bar or longer ratchet...this help a lot. Hope u can get those bolts out of there. For the clamp...u can use a flat screwdriver or a pry bar...try to turn that clamp pushing just on side of the clamp( the area where u hold it with pliers, do not go or pry on the hose because u might damage it) it should move enough just so u can use pliers to remove it. Hope this helps 🙏

    Also, double-check the video...minute 6 i removed the Thermostat housing so i have more access to that clamp. P.s. just be patient...sometimes it takes some time to get it done and get it right! U got this brother!

    hi, at 10:34 you are putting back the clamps on the heater hose. I would like to know what size the hose is and where can I order them.

    Hey there! Ok if u are talking about the small one, u can go to an autoparts and they will get one for u. They have a wall full of hoses. If u talking about the big ones, is the upper radiator hose.

    @@larasgarage2021 so I'm taking about the rubber hose you put the pinch clamps back on at 10:34. I'm wondering if they have to mold it to a specific curve or if any heat resistant hose of that size would do

    Ok so I know I’m late but maybe someone can possibly help. I have a 05 mustang that I recently attempted to change the thermostat housing on. After changing it and starting the car, coolant was shooting out from where the thermostat connection resides. It also shout out from the hole next to the connection. I’m confused on what I did wrong.

    Hi were you able to fix it? I experienced the same issue. I installed the thermostat housing everything seemed fine for a couple miles than smoke came out from under my hood and there was coolant splattered everywhere. The sensor was out im sure thats where the coolant came out. I forgot to put the coolant sensor pin out.

    Hi l installed the thermostat housing exactly how you mentioned in the video. I drove my car for more than 4 miles it was fine and all but then someone told me l had smoke coming out from the under the hood. I pulled over, opened the hood and There was coolant everywhere. I notice that the sensor came off I believe thats where the coolant came out. Also I noticed that i forgot to put the silver clasp to secure the coolant sensor. You think thats the case because at first it was running fine or maybe I didn’t bleed out the system properly. Please help!

    Hi there! Im sorry that happened to you. So what happened is that as the engine warm up,pressure will rise as well.....maybe when car was cold there was not much pressure in the coolant system...but once car start running that pressure buil up and pop out the sensor. Yes, the silver or crome lock/pin is super important. If u dont put it back that sensor will continue to pop out. That lock is the only thing holding that sensor in place. Hope this helps 🙏

    @@larasgarage2021 Hi thank you so much for replying back! Do you think I damaged my engine by all that smoke I manage to pull up on time. There was smoke coming out from everywhere do you think its damaged im scared to turn it on all the way. Someone told me its just the coolant hearing on the engine.

    @marlenea539 ok, what i would do is make sure to install the sensor back(with pin/lock) Refill radiator and coolant reservoir. And then start the car...at this moment do not go for a drive...let the engine warm up so Thermostat can open,this will let the coolant circulate. If the temperature is normal,let it run for 10 min or so(after it warms up). Check again the coolant reservoir and refill if needed. Answering ur question about if the engine is damaged...well there is only one way to find out. U have to star the car....all that smoke probably was just the coolant falling one exhaust pipes or headers. If the car didn't overheat for too long, u should be ok.

    @@larasgarage2021 omg thank you so much for the info. I bought a 3.5 L of antifreeze already diluted antifreeze coolant. Will that be enough? Also when I start the engine do I leave the cap off so the air can escape? And what the difference between radiator and coolant reservoir? I have the same model like in the video is it just that radiator reservoir?

  • @larasgarage2021

    @larasgarage2021

    3 ай бұрын

    @marlenea539 it might be enough coolant but if it doesn't just buy more...idk how much coolant spilled. Some cars have a cap on the radiator and another in the coolant reservoir. Ima be honest..i dont remember about this car if it has both...but anyway if it doesn't just refill the radiator or reservoir. Leave cap ON. engine will suction coolant when Thermostat opens. When it cools off check coolant level and add if necessary.
