    I agree with Eric - Best on KZread! No fussing about removing tie rod ends and ball joints, etc. Nice job! Of course, it is for the model year / make etc

    Thank you! Only video out of seven I’ve watched that explains why when I ordered my set of wheel bearings the passenger side didn’t have a place to connect my wire ❤

    Thanks...nice that you didnt undo the tie rod end (unnecessary) as most others do, some even undo the knuckle (also unnecessary)....save time this way.

    I'm not sure why others undo the tie rod end or pop the ball joints to do this job. I'm thinking they probably aren't experienced mechanics. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!

    Someone has put a oversize bearing hub on this truck because the original bearing hub presses off and doesn't have all that rust and grime on it. I used a axle puller on my 2007 Ram because it would not come off any other way! I went to reinstall the new bearing and new axle and it turned out you can't mix brands. I used CARDONE axles with Detriot AXLE(brand) bearing hubs and the Cardone axles rattle around inside the bearing. So I used the original axles and the new Detriot bearing hub fits on tight! Either CARDONE cut the splines wrong or you need to buy matching CARDONE bearing hubs.

    Is the hub assembly and control arms the same on 03 threw 08 on 2 and 4 wheel drives ? My 2 wheel drive have splines on the center. Thinking about getting a 07 4x4 that has front control arms broke and was thinking I could use the parts off my 03 2 wheel drive parts truck ?

    As far as I'm aware, the hub assembly is the same from 2003-2008 for Ram 1500 trucks (excluding Mega Cab), regardless of 2wd vs 4wd. There was a suspension change for the 2006 model year, so control arms can't be swapped between the 2002-2005 and 2006-2008 generation trucks. There are also differences between 2wd and 4wd control arms for both generations. So doesn't look like your 2wd parts truck would be useful for anything besides the wheel bearing hub assemblies.

    A 35mm Socket is the same size as 1 3/8" Socket.

    I forgot to mention in the video that these are (for all intents and purposes in the context of this video) equivalent sizes. So there's no need to buy a 35mm if you have a 1 3/8" socket in your tool box.

    @@AKJeeper Unfortunately I had to buy a 35mm socket as I did not have a 1 3/8" with my older American made sockets.I did get an impact socket. Most of the American inch tools are now useless as everything on "American" cars is metric as nothing now is really "American". Even if they are assembled here the parts come from around the world. The replacement Timken Front Bearing assemblies I got for my 2006 Dodge, are made in Korea and not in the US. In 1981 the GM /Chevy trucks used metric and SAE and that was a pain.

    @@AKJeeper I was unable to remove the bearing assembly on my truck with the axle still in place I cannot get a impact socket on the nut. the is limited room. Any suggestions? Would a standard fit better? I have a 2006 TRX4 4 wheel drive with a standard cab

    @@geezee1579 did you push the axle shaft in prior to putting the socket on the three wheel bearing assembly bolts? That usually gives me enough clearance. See the video around the 3:50 mark. If your sockets are too thick, you can use a standard socket, just be sure to use a 6pt for better bite.

    So why would i have the ABS sensor on the front driver side but, not on the passenger side? Something cant be right there...

  • @AKJeeper

    @AKJeeper

    Some of these trucks only had rear wheel ABS. The PCM gets its speed info from the left front wheel speed sensor on trucks with rear wheel ABS.

    @@AKJeeper Thank you after researching more and more I finally figured that out then 100% confirmed it by calling my local dealership with my vin# and that is indeed the case. I don't have 4W ABS just on the rear and the front is a speed sensor for the PCM. And if you happen to not install an ABS hub on the driver side it will mess with your 4x4 and all kinds of other stuff apparently.
