I just did mine and if you take the upper ball joint castle nut off you dont need to take the upper control arm off and then you dont need a spring compressor as well you just push the lower control arm down and the whole spring comes out then when you install the spacer and spring you can get a jack and jack up the lower control arm and compress the spring then put your upper ball joint back in and tighten castle nut and then release the jack and your all ready to put the tie rod end link and your sway bar

but before you jack up the lower control arm make sure your sway bar end link is lined up with the sway bar hole or you wont get it back in not unless you loosen the bottom bolt but its easier to just line it up before you jack it up

Haha no don't hit the tie rod from the side either hit the knuckle or hit it from the bottom on tie rod ends like this that's what that extra length is for. just don't miss

The problem with doing spacer on coils is its bouncy. only way to fix it on a dodge is longer shocks or shock extenders and bump stops for the upper control arm but without all that the ride is bearable sorta

Kyle Simms you have to use 2wd spacers. The 4wd screw on diffrently

I have a 1500 megacab 2wd 5.7 gasket and I'm just gonna use 3 inch lift coils for the 5.9 diesel instead of spacers. I need new coils anyways. Any tips?

Did you have problems with the upper control arm hitting where the top of the spring seats in? Someone on a forum said they did. But idk what the differences would be between 06 and 08.

That's what happens without longer shocks, but the best method is upgraded upper control arms to create enough clearance from the shock tower. Stock shocks and a spacer will probably hit

Did your tires look like some positive camber was added? I installed the 1.5" version on my '07 2wd and now my front tires look like there is some positive camber but I'm having a tough time finding info if the camber is adjustable on the 06+ 3rd. Did you get an alignment after the install?

+Emmerson Paragon Definitely recommend an alignment. A lot of suspension geometry is changing.

It worked with stock shocks? Everything I've read says longer shocks are required or else the Upper Control Arm knocks the spring bucket & makes for a terrible ride.

My shocks are a little longer than stock, but yes the control arm will hit the shock tower with stock shocks. Adjusting the LCA cam bolts can help make more room, but don't recommend touching them.

2 inch leveling kit??

I have a 2004 dodge ram 2500 2wd. I want to do the 2" just like you did. I believe its the same procedure and the same kit for that matter. I just would like to if you had to get a front end alignment done after the install or if the alignment was affected at all? Thanks.

hi dr diesel , I just installed a 2.5 inch leveling kit on my 2006 dodge 2500 cummins 2wd looks exactly like the one you are installing on this video, so i believe the 1500 and the 2500 share the same front suspension , and changed the shock to a hydraulic skyjacker 7000 , the truck looks awsome , but drives like hell , bounces everywhere very hard , it seems like the upper control arm it has not much space between where the coil spacer rest . now when we installed the leveling kit in top of the spring and then we added the little plastic mount on top that had the spring when we removed it . what should i do now ?? please help !!

4 wheel parts in AZ was where I found mine. Metric sockets, pry bar, and spring compressor should be all you need besides jacks/stands.

What material is your coil spacer? Metal or polyurethane ? What order did you install the spacer, coil spring, coil insulator then the spacer. Or coil spring , coil spacer then the coil insulator?

Polyurethane. No insulator. Just spacer on top of the coil then install as a single unit.

Longer shocks are recommended. Bilstein's website has a great tool for finding correct shocks based on suspension lift.

I'm willing to bet if you didn't also get the extended struts every time your check bounces up it bottoms out and makes a god-awful bang sound

Depends on steering geometry. If everything is in factory positions, then you should be fine.

4Wheel Parts sells spacers along with other distributors. Longer shocks are recommended. Bilstein has a great site that tells you which shocks to buy based on lift or level modifications. Thanks!

They are playing it safe which is fine. Longer shocks create more room. Safest bet is 1.5" or lower

grab one off eBay 2.5" is perfect. I would suggest bilstein shocks to go along with it but stock shocks might be long enough
