If you look at instructions bolt are supposed to be fed into the spacer upwards and tightened prior to install then use nuts to secure to frame support.

I notice all these cool lift/leveling kits for these 1500's but I hardly see anyone test them off road on the trails mostly noting for how much flex it allows before rubbing etc.

This is a highly debated topic. If you are running the stock tires and level the truck, then more then likely you’ll want to upgrade the UCAs based on how the geometry is when installed. But on the other hand, if you run a taller/larger tire overall like I do, I have no hyper extension. I would say if you have the money just go head and buy yourself a pair, definitely couldn’t hurt

They actually are fine! I went with a pretty tall All Terrain tire so there wasn’t much flex / angle when we let the truck off the jack. If you go with a shorter mud terrain tire with a -44mm off set which is a common set up I think that’s where people run into an issue. I do plan on upgrading the UCA’s and might even do a 3” lift on the truck. Good luck with your build!

  • @RatchetWrenches

This is a highly debated topic. For me personally I did not upgrade the UCAs and upgrade my tire/wheel set up. I believe because the tire was taller there is no flex in the UCA. But on the other hand, If you were to go with a fatter / shorter tire you might run into the issue of having the flex on your UCA. So it really depends but if you want to be safe and have the extra money to spend, go and buy yourself a set! Hope this helps

Does anyone have any knowledge as to if this would cause any rubbing? If so what can be done to combat that issue? Also, will I absolutely need to purchase to control arms? And why? Sounds like you have some good plans for it! So I’m running a 33” tire with a -24mm off set with no rub. I’ve heard you can run a 35” tire with some slight rubbing but only at decent turning angles. You can probably get away with this set up without upgrading your UCA’s but I would recommend upgrading them since it’s such a large increase in weight and angle of the tire. I have not upgraded mine but plan on it soon. Hope this helps!

Well the lift kit you’re actually raising the trucks height and ground clearance. With the leveling kit you’re only raising the front to equal out to the rear. If you plan on going off-road a lift kit would be the right choice, also there’s cheaper kits that are just as good as the $2k ones.

Just make sure all your factory wheel specs match the Motometal specs and you'll be okay. I had ProComp AT's and they were great. Have BF Goodrich now and they aren't that noisy either. Any AT tire is going to have some noise to it. Just don't buy MT's if you want a decent ride

Cederic Jeffries thank you that means a lot! And yeah I believe it’s pretty much the same procedure. It might be a tad different but very similar!

We’re about 2 months in and daily drive it without any noises yet! But Ik a lot of ppl experience issues using the stock UCAs so maybe down the line we might have some noises
