I still have my 05 3.5SE Altima with about 160k miles and it still runs like the day I bought it. The 3.5's have the same type of engine as the Maxima but with a little less horsepower.

Nice video, thanks for posting! I have the same car, just rolled over 162,000 miles and it still goes strong. The only major repair has been the timing chain tensioner. Great cars, I'm driving mine till it won't roll anymore.

I'm at 172. Im not trying talk shit on the dude's Altima, we all have great cars, but his tranny seems to be shifting a bit early, mine revs all the way out to 7 grand before it shifts when I'm matting it, and I still get a bit of torque steer when I mat it at 40 mph. Realistically his should be the same... They are great cars tho and sleeper af.

Sounds even better in person. I used to have an 04. I've had so many people try to speed up when I passed them but just blew past them like it was nothing lol

Could have probably held the shifts a bit longer. Shifting at 6k when the redline is 6600. Regardless, these are pretty underrated cars.

I had one and miss it, someone hit me and it was totaled. They're fast especially if you think back to the early 2000s when they were new. I had my 04 in 2012 and it was still one of the fastercars on theroad. I didn't race many people but had people speed up and try to not let me pass and just smoked them lol. The sport tuned suspension works really well in this car especially along with the power the car makes

I really enjoyed this car I purchased it new 2005 and had it till 2012 late. The car ran very fast the first years; in the latter years I had issues with engine mounts; and the car killed itself with the the transmission going out along with the engine timing belt with around 140,000 miles. I read the Nissan also in later years developed issues with Coolants leaking into transmissions mainly CVTs and damaging them. Please comment any ideas. Jorge Realtor Miami

You shifted way early, I shift at 6500, you were shifting at 5500 right when the motor starts making power.

Jesse Haskins actually the motor make the most horsepower at 6000 rpm... After that you start loosing power.... I have touched 250 kmph racing with kia optima turbo.... I always shifted at 6000 rpm.

5800 rpm is where you get the best HP out of it

I have a 2005, but it's a 2.5 for cylinder. It's about to hit 300k on the miles, and I run it like a race car still.

have you had issues with your gas gauge being stuck on the same spot? or moving up and down no matter the amount of gas you have? just curious, i have the same car man.

If you do it in a Altima Coupe it's pretty comparable with the 350Z.

My tires don't even spin if I have the pedal to the floor from a complete stop. Do you think I need a tune up ??

Yeah I'm driving a rusty clunker of a 2002 V6, my muffler slaps on the ground and I only have one functioning handle. It's not meant to be driven around parking lots, but I love it for the way it handles cornering at high speed. It's a low-key race car, drifts as good as a FWD ever could

Alvin Long I'm almost positive that the gear ratios are the same between the SE and SE-R, because the automatic SE-R used the Aisin 5AT w/ manual mode and I believe the 3.5 SE had the same transmission for the 05 & 06 model years.

did you do some work in your engine or is it stock cause is pretty fast .

checkout my videos , i got a 2006 Altima 3.5 SL , tomorrow i am going to upload the install of the center dash gauges donated from a SE-R parts car . I still got a way's to go, i am hoping to install performance exhaust and headers by the end of this year.

I have 2 of those ..both 05 models se v6..and my altima is way faster tthan that car...cat delette..aftermarket dual exhaust .high performace coil packs ...thompson stage 3 tuner chip .. And k and n ram air air intake .lot more power after all that .

this guy beat my lawn mower's record just now by about 0.2 seconds lol congrats this is as fast as my 6.7 HP lawn mower the extra .2 hp came from the heat shield and cold air intake i put on it
