EDIT: The first 3.5 minutes of the video repeats itself (from about 3:30 to 7:00). I have no idea on how to fix this without creating a new upload...please fast forward that 2nd part to 7:00 minutes after I say that "..I'll show you how i found the part online"...
Does the vent mode selector no longer work in your car? Is the air stuck in the front vent or in another position?
Then the issue is with the mode selector motor. You can buy a used part and replace this yourself It's fairly simple.
This video will show you how to replace the vent selector motor.

Thanks for the video. After dealing with this issue for about a year, I found the part on eBay and fixed it today. The space is very tight but I did it. 😊

Thank you so much for your very clear video. My wife has been complaining that the vents on her 07 Accord are intermittent. Her dash looks EXACTLY like yours so I'm going to drop her glove box and see if the motor is bad.

Great video and thanks! I had the same problem with the mode motor but ONLY in the Winter. The inability to switch to defrost mode results in a serious visibility safety issue. Sometimes it would work and other times not. When the temperature warmed up outside in the Spring there was no problem with the mode switching. I figured that with the cold, snowy weather, the original mode motor just was weak since the vehicle was already 15 years old (2006 Accord SE). So I replaced the mode motor with a new one and hope that this resolves the problem this Winter.

hey. I found out that my blend door aculator is out of order/cycle. I searched so much on KZread and google. My aculator would think that it is on max cold or hot but be on the wrong direction it is pointing at. When I try to align it to the flips it does not match/fit. Is there any way to reset the aculator. Thank you for you support.

Had these issues just come up during the winter and every mechanic I went to is blaming the aftermarket android head unit I have installed. It was working perfectly for the last 3 months and all of the sudden they blame these issues on it. I'm pretty sure I'll end up doing this swap myself even though I suspect that my passenger side temperature motor is broken as well since I have hot air only coming from one side. Oh well, serves us well for driving close to 20 year-old cars...

hi. so if you only have hot air blowing, then the motor for that is on the driver side...that controls the mixture of hot and cold air.

@@FTW56 I think I replaced the mode selector motor and it fixed all my issues. I ran the built in diagnostics with the original head unit and it showed a code for this specific motor. It turned out to be spot on.

i can take a stab..make sure the control board is working...meaning that lights on the dash turn on when you press the difference modes of venting. There is a self diagnostic option that your car might be setup for...see post #2 in the link: www.driveaccord.net/threads/hvac-diagnostic-test.52971/ or post #1 in this link below www.driveaccord.net/threads/using-the-self-dianostic-for-the-a-c.6778/

Help Please! Yeah I just grabbed a motor from the junkyard since my last motor was making a clicking sound that was annoying. Both the old motor that clicks and the one I replaced from the junkyard still doesn't give me air flow through the defroster vents. I get air in sides and front vents above the radio. Could it be I got a defective motor from the junkyard? It doesn't make the clicking sound like my old one but still no airflow on my defroster which I desperately need considering I live in Minnesota where it snows a ton. Any answers would be nice!

@@mist_rainz with the motor off, so that you can manually move the levers, turn the car on and try to change the positions with your hand and see if the air can be directed to the defroster position? if it works, then your motor is bad. while doing this, see if getting into defroster position, is it sticking or hard? if yes, then try to see why that is happening. report back or google that part and see what you come up with?
