2004 Honda Civic Lx - Valve Cover Gasket Replacement - Spark Plug Replacement

Customer Concern - Oil stains in driveway and burning smell from engine after car is driven.
Valve cover gasket leaking oil. Replaced valve cover gasket.
Performed spark plug service.
--During removal one spark plug was tight to remove. Cleaned damaged thread in cylinder head with old spark plug and anti-seize.
--All New spark plugs torqued to proper specification.
--Road tested car, no shaking felt, no check engine light appeared, no codes stored in ECU.
Replaced broken engine oil dipstick with new engine oil dipstick. Verified engine oil level is ok.

It is a Snap On brand, Techangle, Part number ATECH2FR100B. Great tool, also does angle torque tightening.

@@thatonecarguy5201 Thank you. I am about to do the same work on my 04 Civic. I even ordered the exact gasket/seal set from Fel-Pro. It comes with eight seals for the coil on plugs and the inside underneath the valve cover. Which ones go on the inside of the valve cover? Four of them are made with hard plastic at the circumference. The other four are soft and malleable. Hmm. I assume the harder ones go on the inside/underneath valve cover.

Found the 04 Civic Si (K20A3) valve cover gasket has the 8 seals for coils/inside the valve cover, as you are describing. That same part number for the Felpro gasket VS50614R, can also be used for 2005-2012 Civic Si (K20Z3) and up to the 2015 Honda Civic Si (K24Z7) engines. The gaskets might be extra for the different applications that this part number applies to. Checking a picture of the 04 Civic Si valve cover I dont belive you would use all 8. It would only be 4 seals for the size that fits you engine. Great Question! Hope this is helpul.
