These are still damn good-looking cars twenty years later.

The W211s are amazing machines, so well equipped, safe, fun to drive hard in the curves but pure relaxation on a long highway trip. I’ve owned a 2006 E350 for 8 years and today’s E-Class models aren’t as exciting, especially when the range relies heavily on small turbocharged engines. I prefer the hi-spec, under-stressed engines as seen in the ‘old’ E350 and E500. And strangely, today’s E doesn’t even give you a traditional three-pointed star hood mascot…

I had the same year and color and I loved it but that dam a/c pulley went out and it would of cost me more than the car was worth and this was last year. The W211 is by far the most timeless beautiful sedan in the world only matched by the BMW E39 5 series

Very strangely equipped E500 - just about the only real option is the Distronic. Everything else was standard equipment for E500 lol

Bought the E500 2 years ago with only 80'000 miles. Id take this any day over any new 30,000 dollar car.

The options in this car were light years ahead. It had a distronic cruise control. I mean, we see this option on the new cars.

There is a saying amongst mechanics, “if you want to see what car manufacturers are going to be doing 20 years from now, look at what Mercedes is doing today.” All the systems that debuted on this car, that initially yielded complaint, are now commonplace among most vehicles.

I have a 03 E500 lowered on coilovers with muffler delete and C63 exhaust, and while it’s not as fast as the torque monster E55, for a 5.0L NA V8 it definitely moves out! It beats much newer Dodge Challenger 5.7 R/Ts which have 370hp… it’s a total sleeper. Bone stock the E500 runs the same times as a LT1 Corvette C4. Impressive considering it’s a heavier 4 door luxury sedan…

@@Michael.Chapman yea not to sure 🤔 I think cammed would still sound better though. I was thinking about buying one and camming it or buy an xj8 , I'd love to have something different other than ford or cammed Holden. I think it would be really cool a luxury car that shakes and rumbles. But something not so aggressive that it becomes not such a good Daly driver

@@speedmann194 they are certainly lovely cars, I am interested in a green one, possibly an XJR with the supercharger but I was wondering if you have any advice for buying an XJR. I am also considering a W221 Mercedes S class especially with massaging seats I don't know if you are familiar with, I am looking at the S350 - basically the same engine as the E320 diesel but with the adblue additive, it has the same 3 litre V6 turbo diesel. I am conflicted on a XJR, XJ8 or a newer diesel S Class.... What do you think? They all seem to be reasonably priced, I have also considering saving more money and buying an Aston Martin DB9 or a Maserati GranTurismo....but I would like a second car also
