HUGE THANK YOU! Both my back doors failed within weeks of each other and Ford wanted hundreds of dollars to fix them and after looking at a bunch of videos found yours. Most other videos are telling you how to build a clock, when you ask what time it is. You are focused on the exact problem and how to fix it the quickest (and cheapest). You did a great job in explaining each step and I was able to fix both doors. The first one took a bit of trial and error, over an hour, the second one about 20 minutes. Thanks again. Fran

@Frances G - thank you so much for stopping by, and especially for taking the time to leave a comment! So very glad to hear that this helped you! That's exactly what we were hoping to do, and by using something you likely had on hand (and is very inexpensive). I know you're happy to have functioning rear doors again, and if the cable gets brittle or snaps, it's easy to just replace it again. Thanks again, and have a blessed day ---Tim and Stacy

I have had a 2002 F-150 Super Cab for 17 years. 2 years ago the rear door on the passenger side quit working. After consulting my local F-150 expert on the problem,I was lead to believe that this repair might be costly. I thought ,oh well, the driver's side still works. Then about two weeks ago the driver's side went out too. Today I searched You-Tube for a solution and found your amazing video. Thanks so much for posting this info as now I have my trusty four door truck again. I had all necessary tools and materials here and didn't have to leave my driveway.

@Michael Smith Smith - Hi Michael! Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know! We are so glad that this worked for you. We know there are more involved, and more expensive, solutions to this rear door issue, but with the age of our truck, we feel like our money is better spent on other problems and issues. We've had a cable tie on this rear door for nearly 1.5 years and it is still going strong. The passenger door had to have the same quick fix, but as you said, it is quick and easy and uses things we have here at the house. So glad it helped :) Have a blessed day ---Tim and Stacy

The rear passenger door on my 2000 F150 suddenly failed today. I realized the top latch was stuck. I came across your video a short time later and in about 20 minutes, I had it fixed and ready for reassembly. The top cable plastic end piece failed exactly as the one in the video. Very easy and inexpensive fix. Thank you for taking the time to share your video!!

Great job. This helped me fix me 2003 F150 yesterday. The only difference was my issues was with the top cable that runs behind the ones you show. I was about to give up when my hand pulled on it be accident and it opened the door. I used three zips to secure. Easy fix if it goes out again. Nice job on the video and you helped save me some serious money. thanks

Be A Real Man - thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment to let us know! We are so glad this easy fix was able to help you with your problem. We have had to do it on both rear doors, and while we don't think it's a long term fix, it is a quick, easy and very cheap fix. Where we live it is very hot, so I imagine the cable tie will get brittle over time, in our heat, but it is very easy to do and can easily be done again. As you said, it saves a lot of money over a more expensive fix. Glad it helped! Have a wonderful and blessed day ---Tim and Stacy 😍❤

Doors haven’t worked in 2 years and I guess will continue not to, this video was very very straight forward and got to the point. I went out and took the panels off and the top cable seemed to be a little loose so I put some tension on it with my finger and didn’t work then put the zip ties still didn’t work so I just put it back together. But great video, I’m sure it’s helped dozens

Visioneer68 - thank you for stopping by and letting us know. This is a nice quick fix for the door issue, and saves a lot of money by using something as simple as the cable tie. It's not a "do it the best way" long term fix, but our truck is 15 years old and that money is better spent on other items for the vehicle. We were glad to find that this worked, easily and cheaply and can easily be done again if the cable tie doesn't last. We're so glad to hear it helped you :) Have a wonderful and blessed day --Tim and Stacy

Visioneer68 - thank you for your service! And thank you for checking out our channel and subscribing! We both try to help others, in our own way, Tim with all things guy (truck fixes, gun maintenance and cleaning, as he is also a veteran, projects around our house, etc). I love to cook and grocery shop and meal plan and have been amazed at how many people we know who work long hours, and pay for things like meal planning, home meal delivery kits, grocery shopping services, etc. I hope to be able to help in some way to be able to do that free, for yourself, and save a little money and hopefully some time. I cook for two, so things can easily be doubled and tripled for a larger family, but hopefully also can help others who are cooking for themselves or just two. We're glad you are here and hope that you do enjoy the content on our channel. Again, thank you for your service to our country, we are proud Americans, home to a proud veteran, and Christ followers who believe in faith, family and good food :) Have a wonderful and blessed day ----Stacy 😍💚

This works great it will save you about 250.00 . Includes labor for a new kit . However one thing i did not need to pull entire plastic off . Just enough to uncover square with hole to put ties in. . You will have to grap cable and pull just a bit to loosen . Also my top window latch is on the right not the left like shown in video . Very easy and simple to do . Took no longer than 15 minutes . A great video to save money thx

Buzz Verneau - thank you for stopping by and commenting to let us know! We just did the cable tie trick last December, so it hasn't been long enough to gauge how long it lasts. I would think as long as it takes a cable tie to become brittle in the heat or from wear and tear? Since we filmed this video and shared it, the other door has had the same problem, so my husband has fixed both with this quick trick. Even if it does happen again, it's pretty easy to do (he said!) and very inexpensive. On a truck this old, it seemed like a good, quick, cheap fix :) Hope you have a great weekend and a truly blessed day ---Stacy and Tim

@@stratplayer53 Yep, they are great vehicles, and hold up for the most part, but for us, the money is definitely better spent on more "important" items to keep the vehicle running smoothly. Rear doors are important, but the cost of a cable tie and a little time is totally negligible and easy to do :) Yikes, plowing early, looks like winter is going to be a lot earlier this year, maybe it will even out and not be so bad.
