Hey Ryan , thanks for that video , i think your video is the best , and the reason i say this because , all the other videos people show the work done , but , they dont follow through like you have done and start the vehicle up , lol , and show , this is what fixed the problem , my wife has a 2003 expedition in great condition , and no need to get rid of it , but this was the exact symptom too , now i know how to fix it , thanks so much Ryan ! the idle control valve . have a blessed day !

Im curious if it was showing engine codes? That sound was similar to bearing issues on turbos. Good call on the iac.

Lol I was gonna guess IAC valve too. I had to replace mine cpl years ago

I think I have a iac or maf problem my idle surges really high sometimes hot or cold it'll idle normal and then surge to 1500 or so rpm for a couple seconds then drop to normal mines an 02 4x4 5.4

Arent changing the plugs a blast on that thing?

Did you ever figure out the hard start? Have a lightning that is doing the same thing, except I havent replaced the IAC yet, it just came in today

Was your Service Engine Soon light on at all while this was happening? Mine is on and it dies while idling.

Does it have a whistling sound

7:32 My truck has that hard start issue sometimes too, it don't matter if its hot or cold.

@@thelagisreal1249 I gotta rate them a 9/10 cuz they came with halogen bulbs for the little top strip, but I swapped those out for light blue leds and they're perfect now

I replaced the IAC on my 03 5.4, I did a smoke test and smoke was coming out of that little cap on the valve. Should it be coming out if that?
