@@Big1_ Eh...21 years for a 2000s Audi is pretty old. Most German cars, if not religiously maintained, turn into junk but it really does also depend on the owner and the engine for that year. What do you drive? And do you work on your car yourself? 38 years is pretty incredible.

The engine doesn't seem to be healthy anymore. 240km/h is way too slow, even when you consider that the old 4.2 engine almost never reached the claimed specs on the dyno. It should go at least 270-280 on the speedo.

270 is top you’d get without a governor on those engines stock. And the governors were set at 233 for those so agree the engine is lame

Yes everyone can tell that this engine isn’t on a great condition anymore, anyway it’s almost 20 year old car so that was to be expected…i was hoping for a top speed of 260 km/h but atleast it did +250 km/h which it’s not great but okay i guess…

This car SCRAP.

I love these. Built to cruise the autobahn at 155 all day long. Literally says it on the commercial. "Built for the Autobahn."

The car seems ok for it's age and weight. Also this transmission is great for normal driving. So many irrelevant commenters who think that their 170hp Golf is better & faster, just ridiculous...

I am jealous of the lane discipline that people have in Germany. In the USA, people will travel the same speed in all lanes, with no regard for passing or travel lanes.

У меня W210 рестайлинг,E200 Kompressor на 186 лошадок с 6 ступенчатой механикой, с пробегом 200к км, я выжимал 255км/ч, эта ауди явно уставшая, на 350 лошадей должна за 200 улетать а не ползти!

@@vaginalfrosch Simon hat schon recht! Der S6 in dem Video schafft ja noch nicht einmal nach Tacho die angegebene Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 250 Kmh. Normal geht der laut Tacho schon seine 265Kmh, zumindest der den ich mal gefahren bin.

From what i see up to 200 it goes, after 200 it's hard... Anyway cool car!

An auto that revs out to over its indicated redline, is a good auto.

I don´t know why that is but every time I look at this car I am just astonished. Although the C6 looks better and packs the V10 the C5 just hits me different.

This is my favorite generation of the S6/RS6 lineup. It has a timeless classic look, but what's more is that ability to convert them to 6-speed manuals. And the comfort... my god the comfort. It's a touch down from A8/S8, mostly because of the lack of double layer windows, but i prefer it to basically anything under €100k that came out in the last 15 years. The way it floats especially on A and B roads.. pure magic. Yes on tight mountain roads and on track it's like trying to wrestle a rhino, but that's not what this car is made for. Its purpose is fill it with luggage, take your S.O, hit the road, stick it in 6th, cruise effortlessly and in comfort at 200km/h, drive for 600km+ and arrive like you just had a nap. This particular example sadly isn't healthy engine-wise. it looks astonishing, yes, but unless that's some really steep climb, that engine is producing no more than 270Hp. My old 2.7T A6 had better performance when it was stock at 250hp. Especially in the 3rd gear pull from 120. The 4.2L 40valve V8 should do it in half the time it took here. If you play the video at double the speed, that's how a healthy 4.2L V8 should pull in 3rd. This is AT BEST 270HP.

Isn't the wind noise coming from the sunroof? And as many have commented, it seems like it has suspension issues, very obvious when you brake the first time and it shakes the car.

This car has never been a rocket though. It's more about the abilities on wet and icy underground and have a smooth drive. Engine has most likely 310 horses and additional there is a slow automatic transmission and quattro which both consumes power. That is why any golf gti with 220hp has the same dynamic. still a lovely car with great v8 rumble and good qualities in terms of long-term durability.

The drive shown look exaclty like my C5 4.2 Avant I drove in the past. About 7 seconds 0-100 with those long runs between gears, and the engine pulling without becoming explosive in the top end. The low crawling above 180 km/u. Everything gradual. Despite the video perhaps not showing an exciting car, it's a very nice daily driver.

Sounds like the exhaust heat shield but it's very loud, I'd be sorting that before any high speed runs

Die Ausstattung ist grauenhaft kein Carbon keine recaros keine abblendbaren Spiegel, ist ja quasi nackt die Bude 😁. Zumindest doppeldin hat er und der schwarze alcantara Himmel is auch sehr schön, das macht den Wagen dann wieder interessant.

I have 2000 s6 c5 that has s4 manual transmission. Maybe it's the gearbox or it's still has speed limiter enabled. Because I Managed to reach 250km/h with some rpm left for more speed but I was scared to push it more.

Why scared…I have the Automatik and it goes to about 280km/h and drives pretty smooth. Wind noise is getting high tho

Its that damn gearbox! Can't make its mind up.....so many problems these gearboxes give.

Bin mal einen gefahren der lief 300. war aber Schalter. Fand das die Kupplung schwer ging und durstig.

Schönes Auto aber würde den 2.7 biturbo definitiv immer empfehlen. Mit ner guten Software geht der genauso gut wenn nicht sogar besser

Ich merke bei meinen kaum nen Unterschied, mein biturbo ist ne Limousine und hat etwas schmalere Reifen aber Spaß macht der s6 definitiv mehr. Leistung dürfte aber ca die selbe sein. Ach ja und der s6 klingt besser und sieht viel besser aus. Ist auch einer der Gründe warum ich den biturbo bald verkaufen werde.

My old S211 Wagon ‘04 320Cdi (204PS) has 176k miles on it and she still gets 151mph much quicker than this managed to 120mph.. … .. It definitely looks like this VAG has lost one of its 4 Rings..!
