What is the liquid you always put on when done soldering that you brush? Also I've seen you use a liquid to release components soldered. I had this switch and the interior switch for turning the lights on and off (bottom left of switch) quit working so I replaced the whole assembly. I never had it apart but had thought about it once. You mention the light bulb in this headlight switch. Could it possibly be replaced with a L.E.D. bulb of some type, maybe blue being you mentioned the cover. Does your solder have a heat setting and if so what do you set the temp at if it has a temp setting? IF it makes it easier and you have time to reply just copy and paste my questions and reply between them with a different font if possible. Thanks for your time and insight with the knowledge you bring to your channel.

What about a 99-02 GM headlamp switch? I pulled mine apart and it's not at all the same as this one in the video. There aren't any solder points/caps to rework...all I see is the foil tracers running everywhich way and they look like the are broken or not making a continuous path, which would leave me to believe somewhere the flow of electricity is lost. My gauge lights are out. I ran a jumper from the 12v constant to the dimmer pin (green/blue wire which is the last wire in connector-pin K I think) and when I do that I get my dash lights back on. No other symptoms....i.e. my headlights work, dome lights work. Is there a fix or should I just buy a new headlight switch.... Also I tested with multimeter and got no reading on the Pin K. Thanks for any help

Okay no one seems to be able to answer my question. I have replaced the switch you repaired in my 05 chevy 2500 pickup. Mainly because i didn't seem to have any control with the dimmer wheel to adjust my lighting for my cluster and radio. I had the cluster rebuilt by a professional company and I put in a new lighting dimmer switch. It still has absolutely no control of my cluster lighting and radio. Both are dim, but work fine otherwise. Everything else in the interior lighting works fine. Is there a fuse or ground somewhere that prevents the thumb wheel dimmer from working. Hope you have some ideas. Thanks and great video.

Jeff tried to figure out how to message you thru KZread but it must be a top secret deal. Anyways 04 Chevy Tahoe. I have the manual left and right heat control where you adjust everything manually not the digital. 2 things. First thing is where the slides are for you to go from cold to hot the light bulbs that showed the red and blue don't work. I couldn't see that you had a video so I'm asking if you have suggestions? Second thing is with GM and the great actuators they have do you know of any ways to fuze the clicking noise in the right side heat/cold blend actuator. This is the more spendy one though it's probably about 4 times as much work as the left one. Any suggestions as to how to fix these door actuators as it seems when one in the vehicle goes then the others always seem not to far behind. To compound things I have a 04 Tahoe and 06 Impala. Talking about actuator issues Any help you provide, suggest for any of these issues would be very much appreciated. If I could go without the controller for the heat I'd send you mine and have all the lights upgraded to LED. THANKS AGAIN! Dale

Actuator clicking is typically the bull gear has cracked from rim to metal axle/spindle such that the gear is opening up and popping over on the splines of the spindle and no repair works. Replacement is possible when you buy the gear by itself from an eBay constructor of these gears for 20$ each or the other alternative is 80$ actuator from the parts store. eBay plastic may be less rigid and not crack, but I can't vouch for that, not enough experience here unfortunately. The one I replaced is outliving the original though.

It's more likely you have a fractured joint at the connector. By you taking it apart, handling and cleaning it, put enough movement/pressure on the bad joint to temporarily make it touch and work again. If so, it will start acting up again soon.
