Having same problem. 176000 miles and timing chain stretched. Found out that there is a defect with that engine. Mechanic told me there is an oiling problem to the chain. He knew a guy that his chain would stretch about every 30000 miles. Decided it was not worth it and. Got rid of it. It seems it was engines from a certain factory.

hey would you mind telling me where the air intake temperature sensor is located? If there's such a thing. I'm not referring to the mass airflow sensor, I know where that is.

The mass air flow sensor is the intake air temperature sensor on these engines it's built in.

1 month ago my nissan was scan and found code P0335, use to have hard start and stops while ideling. Finally refused to start a week ago. I changed crankshaft sensor at the back of engine, maintained the camshaft sensor on top of the engine and the car will not still start. i went further to test the resistances of the three sensors. 0.274Mohms old crankshaft, 6.98Mohms new crankshaft and 3.89Mohms camshaft. Please any way out?

Daniel Morin Well, hard to say what's wrong. Could be a lot of things that would cause this. You should call the mechanic or tow car back to him. He could have possibly misdiagnosed it since the computer did not fix it. But this kind of problem is hard to diagnose. Lots of diagnosis would be needed. Need to check fuel pressure. Check for spark. Need to look at data on the scanner. Maybe do a compression test. May want to check cranking vacuum. These are just some ideas to narrow it down.

Hello, my car is a 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S and it has 331,000 miles. The car runs and drives great. I do my best to give it some love of maintenance and it has treated us great. Question; when you say that the timing chain is stretched, how did you diagnose it? Thanks p.s., my 2005 cam sensor is on the drivers side. The cam and crank sensor "may" be the same part but they do have different part numbers. Cam position sensor is; PC462 Crank position sensor is; PC462T

Your engine sounds like it is a little different than my sons car. Watch the latest video that I have uploaded and it explains how I diagnosed the stretched timing chain.

Daniel Morin you might go to a parts store and see if there is a code in it. Could be the same problem. Or it could be the fuel system draining back if it sits overnight or several hours. If it starts every time on the fourth try, sounds like fuel system drainback.
