14:57 It feels weird seeing Ron Hornaday Jr. in a #24 Hendrick Chevrolet truck when just a few years before, he raced against that truck for the title when Jack Sprague drove it...

Right you would think Ricky Hendrick would have been in that 24 truck.
Dodge 1-2-3-4! Dang, that's awesome! At least to me, anyway.

Dodge used to have a very good truck program in the early 2000s. I didn't care. I was still a Chevy fan.
DODGE needs to come back to Nascar

I think he may have been going for a more professional appearance in the booth.
NASCAR on ESPN into 2002?! Am I nuts?!

No. ESPN had the Craftsman Trucks (welcome back Craftsman) until the end of 2002. They lost the other national divisions after 2000.
Awkward start to the broadcast and the race. I guess there was a broadcast delay before the start or was this originally tape delayed?

Whoa whoa whoa! Oh trouble on the backstretch
This is back when NASCAR let these trucks run loose with no restrictor plates. You heard the announcer there... 194 mph average in the trucks. Result: overall better racing.

As I recall they were faster than the cup cars and they either slowed the trucks or sped up the cars

@@MrBurney12 It was a combination of both. The trucks had 750 HP unrestricted open carb while the cup cars had like 600 HP with the restrictor plates. But because the trucks were aerodynamically challenged rarely did they exceed 194 mph. They had to eventually slow the trucks down in the years following because they were going too fast. But you see the trucks had overall better racing because they were able to pass and suck up well in the draft. The restrictor plates gave the cup cars very little passing abilities.
