The V-Rod was actually sold from 2002 till 2017. 02'-07' had the 1130cc motor putting out 115HP 08' and up models were the 1250cc motor putting out 123HP. In 2006 Harley Davidson started putting Brembo brakes front and rear as some thought the original brakes were a bit inadequate. I picked up a 2006 two years ago with only 4316 miles on it for a little shy of $5k, and I'm in love with it. It gets looks and compliments wherever it goes.

The extra cc and horse power of the newer models was to compensate for the heavier designed machine. The original v rod 115hp is still the fastest production harley ever made

My first and only bike (so far) is a used 2013 HD Vrod muscle. When I look at and compare other bikes and options I feel so spoiled; it really feels like the perfect bike for me. 1250 cc stage 1 w/Vance&Hines 2n1 to haul my 340lb frame around & brembo brakes with available ABS to stop it. 240mm rear Michelin Scorcher tire together with the huge 5gal under seat tank and top of engine air box give it an almost impossible to drop peg scraping extra wide and extra low center of gravity. The super comfortable forward controls and nice wide soft factory seat make this muscle cruiser one of the most intuitive and easy to ride bikes I have ever ridden. The engine is basically bulletproof being watercooled and designed for racing (see Düsseldorf test). Because of the hydroformed frame design the bike doesn't get the death wobble at highway speeds like a lot of other traditional Harleys. One of the best parts still is it's worst part, or should I say best part again... Because of the hate from the diehard Harley enthusiasts this bike didn't really sell so you can get a used one for cheap, but since it's a Harley and well built as long as you take care of it it can basically hold it's value; from personal experience I was just recently offered trade-in value at what I originally purchased it for.

Harley should bring back this bike on market !

Bikes & Beards just got his hands on one of the v.rod drag bikes that isnt street legal and was bought from the dealer for drag race only. I watched a documentary on this bike when they were testing it at Porsche years ago and taking it out on the autobahn. Really awesome machines.

Cool bike vrod in Australia is very very well liked massive following but it's unfortunate that H D isn't making the bike anymore it's a shame

I like the air box mod that houses the gages in a different air box cover. Worth every penny

I believe Eric buell had somthing to do with the engine design/concept,I remember a video on youtube,with him saying how he wanted to put the engine in buell bikes, or it would have been better used In buell bikes, but Hd decided to put it in a cruiser with little to no ground clearance! Nice bike,shame its no longer available new. That's two great bikes killed off (buell and vrod) by the motor company,that is so badly needed for the young blood to get into HD.

For a while that big rear tire thing was out of control.

You confused the engine specs with Vrod Muscle bud. This 1130 engine is weaker than you say

@@mitchmoot2832 who says it's unreliable? I certainly didn't. I commented on the numbers he quoted which were wrong and taken from specs of stronger and bigger motor. Guy confused weaker early engine with bigger VR Muscle motor.

I have an '04 and can easily get 120 miles per tank (3.5 gal tank) on long-easy rides (70/75 mph) so that actually makes it 40 mpg 👊😎

Makes the EVO MOTOR look like a dog, and pure shouldn't ride this bike it's too fast U need to Send it to me, so I can test ride it for you, I'll send it back to you in a year or so fully tested and cleaned!!!! THANK'S from NOR-CAL!!!!

Thank god it doesn't handle like a Porsche. It would kill nearly everyone that rode it hard.
