Her solo scene on the train while returning home from their encounter is simply sublime acting. Every nuance of her affair was there expressed in her face, the thrill, excitement, love, guilt, regret, lust confusion, infatuation.

Excellent point. And the way she was holding her puseta in the train and when she went to the toilet wipe away her guilt were good scenes. You have to be an adult to understand that.

I liked Diane lane in a little romance, y the Boston movie where her lover died in a ship hurricane. I found them most enjoyable. I had to be pulled out of the theatre at aged 15 after a little romance ended. I was the only person left in the theatre balling away. Thank you y the now French dentist who at that time had a big, streetwise, little man personality.

I have to admit this movie was good. First, it turns not one but two difficult subjects into a lesson in what eroticism can engender and how it can cloud judgment. But it does it from her standpoint equally. Anyone can see how she would be attracted to that guy. Women watching this are saying to themselves, there but for the grace of God… and guys are saying the same. Would I or could I kill that guy? Would I forgive her? Would I turn myself in. Having had experience with infidelity in marriage, I can answer those questions to a point, but it could have easily turned out differently. I forgave, but could never forget. I did not confront the guy, but will always wonder if I would feel better if I had. Affairs are destructive and should not be entered into lightly, no matter how good the sex is. Divorce is horrible, but the cut from an even a forgiven affair leaves a more unsightly scar.

I thought Diane Lane did an electrifying job in this movie. However I have the Blu-ray DVD and the director of this movie had said something to her about how affairs happen. How they did not want to show that their marriage was dysfunctional or toxic in any way. Adrian was going for that feel of the movie. But I think that's the part that really messes me up. You have a partner that cheats on you for no real reason but out of pure hatred and selfishness. You say you love your husband but you treat him by being with a man with no protection and let him do everything to you without sense of destroying of two other people it is selfish. Relationships are complicated people lie and say they are in good relationships and they love their husband or their wife. But if you truly love you do not cheat if there is ture respect and love. If these things don't exist there there is the oxygen for a fire of an affair. Remember a fire can only burn if it has oxygen if your relationship is not as happy as you think and enough oxygen is there yes you could have a fire of an affair. I found her character Connie Sumner hateful and selfish of her husband and family. If a man or woman can have an affair in a good marriage what hope do we have for good relationships? And I get people cheat for various reasons there could be trauma as a child that could be life unfulfilled situations of youth. But to do the self-discovery go away from the person you with discover that on your own that is the true self discovery not putting others in a position to where if the situation blows up it blows up everybody with them. Be brave that way go blow up your own life and it's only you that will be a casualty not your husband not your children not your family. That is the true mark of a person's true meaning of what they're trying to find out about their life. Diane Lane even said in an interview that her character was a monster or she phrases monster of a character. Even she knew that this woman was not a good woman even if a man had did the same he would not be a good man. Relationships about commitment if you can't commit to the commitment don't commit to marriage or relationships.

In the movies ,it seems that there was nothing except inside the bed . Everything was right and sometimes ,things occur or are bound to happen in life but scene of restroom or resturant and scene after seeing him with other woman , slapping him and his forceful seduction and her easily compromise for instant physical assembling ,hard to digest ,here we are absolutely inclined to think that the relationship was totally more like physical attraction and famale pragotonist has been framed into easily trapped woman only for physical lust . As the title represents faithful and definitely , her whole attention has been famale character .It may be very uncomfortable for those who still believe in pure and eternal relationship in life . Frustrating point is that there has been no sign of shame and degradation of feelings and character after getting used to it ... Hats off to famale charactor who accepted to act with direction of producers ..we can't understand how she was comfortable with acting in such erotic scenes which may be avoided or cutted .. Obviously , the sense of uncomfortablity , a feeling of a little shame was reflecting when asked her shooting such bold scene and trauma she may have gone through after shooting such scenes .😮

N we shouldve seen that in the film. Connie should've faced some sort of punishment while in the film. She doesnt care about her family when cheating then doesnt care about the guy when hes dead??!! Wtf!! She shouldve been framed for it by her husband n then the last scene should've been does, Gere's character decide to tell the truth or not to the police.

YOUR WIFE IS THE PERSON THAT YOU TOOK VOWS WITH NOT ME SO WHY WOULD I CARE OR BE LOYAL TO YOU? A RANDOM STANGER??? man bro people get me with that, you confront the man or woman that your spouse is sleeping with instead kf confronting your spouse...ALSO last but not least I want to make this clear, sorry for my long windedness lol, but the ONLY person I'm willing to kill, die, or do life in prison over is my 8 year old daughter there is no way IN HELL I'm throwing my life away for a woman that MADE A VIVID CHOICE to sleep with another man, especially if I know I'm a good man to my wife? I understand all the accolades because it's remarkable sexual desires. That's always attractive to very many. However, I feel that one part of the story is poorly written. When she finds he's cheating she runs away he stops her and actually looks like a rape to me. Of course you can't think that way because the story is supposed to be about obsession with sex. I think that looks like a rape. I don't know how any woman would enjoy a scene like that when a man attacks a woman. Sorry, I don't like that part in the movie. And, having sex with him the way she did shows me that she did not love her husband as much as she says she does. Having intercourse with the person with the thrill that she showed is a major betrayal. I don't think if you could come back from her feelings about this guy. It made her look way too obsessive and she needed him to fulfill her desires. If he was never killed she would continue forever. And, the little note at the end would be meaningless when you have that desire. To me, it is virtually impossible to recover. 2:42
