CarlitoBTS basically invented the modern day layout of a car. with the infotainment screen/idrive copied in all cars today. BMW during the golden age was the iPhone of cars. beyond everyone and anything else

This thing is so far ahead of its time! It has features that cars have nowadays. Automatic trunk, self-closing doors, the voice system, a phone, sunroof, it's awesome! Hands down the best BMW before 2005. I suppose your dad likes it, too.

The 95 mercedes s600 had self closing doord and many of the features this BMW has, but the design was surely a radical improvement back then

That's why it was the most expensive car in it's class when it came out. And the most hi tech

I love the fact that this car and other BMWs play a pleasant sound when the key FOB is inserted rather than some harsh chime. Sounds expensive even though it might be an overlooked detail.

White exterior + beige leather + brown wood + chrome = perfect combination....

This car was/is a trap... It sucked a lot of people in on the used market with the sleek styling and luxury features, plus they're really really cheap now, but... Tons of electrical problems and known engine failure issues makes this car a really bad purchase nowadays. I don't know one person who owns this car that hasn't had major problems at some point during ownership. I think it's the 2002-05 models that are really problematic.

@@blaqlionking6978 yh 02 threw 08 are the pits...and expensive repairs to.were talking more than the value of 5he car...I'd love to own a reliable one but where would you find one,I'll be getting a toyota avenues I think....no where near as good looking or interia gadgets but at least I wont be breaking down any where soon.

Do BMWs ever age? At least the 7 series? For a 2002 this car still looks awesome and I'd more than likely pick this car over most of the newer cars out now.

Great video. I used to hate the look of those 7 series but now they're starting to grow on me, that white is awesome!!!!! The dinging is soooooo relaxed, I could listen to it all day!!

My dad used to have a 2003 model year of one of these... very powerful and ahead of its time.

Your right! I believe this was their first model with that chime. They have a newer chime now that sounds similar to this one, but some of their models are still using the old one including the Toyota Supra!

I used to work at a BMW dealership in 2003 when I saw a 760Li V12 Individual, it used to have two LCD screens in the back rest and two cellphones included with it, it used to have massage in the back seats, a really complete navigation system with a partition display and 21" inch wheels, it was very ahead of its time, but unfortunately the problems started with Vanos in the engine, then a lot of different transmission/engine problems in couple of years later, the owner changed at the end for a Rolls Royce, this was here in 🇲🇽

@@sopheathunofficial9793 ...That's the thing most of the BMW enthusiast won't tell you.. that these cars are known to have huge problems with electronics and even engine failures. It had a ton of bells and whistles but the build quality isn't the greatest. No sense of the car looking beautiful if it is constantly at the shop. I would suggest getting the 2000-2006 Lexus LS430... Very luxurious w/tons of features and reliable as they come!!!

I keep changing my mind about what kind of car I want to buy myself I am stuck in between a Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chevy Cruze, Volvo S40, Gmc Terrain, Ford Edge, Bmw X5, and the Bmw 745Li. But I think with your videos it will make it a litle more easy to pick the one I will get.

so to anyone who had or has this car or any older version 7 series, what do I need to know before getting one? I have 2 cars, so only wanting to get a bmw maybe for weekend drive and just to own one. I've seen some pretty decent 2005 to 2007 that my fully loaded 2014 Chrysler 300c John Varvatos Luxury edition doesn't even have. and we're talking 8 to 9 year difference. I have a couple 2007 going for 6 K, they have 130k miles on them. Is it worth it, or will they be a pain in the behind????

we have this car to but it is silver , rims are different, black leather, lots of different options like dvd, or sub sound system, cell phone, automatic window sun blockers, etc, also ours has rear heated seats but no foot rest like that, and you should also do a summer opening, put the key in the driver's door, then turn it and hold it, all windows will go down at the same time

I have the same car, everybody tells me the phone can be connected but I can't see if phones can be connected via bluetooth I foresure knows that in 2003 you can but does any one know if we connect our phones in the same car without any external device?

i have a 2002 as well but the thing about mine is when u close the doors but not all the way, it doesnt do the thing yours does where it closes itself, and it when u press the button to open the trunk it just unlocks it, it doesn't slowly just open... do you know if its due to package or it might be messed up?

2002 BMW 745Li's where amazing cars that where WAY ahead of its time. 2002 BMW 7-Series has stuff in it that Mercedes S-Class didn't have until 2009. There was outstanding cars. The only problem was that they were not at all reliable. My 2004 had the notorious "forever check engine" light. They had awful transmissions and awful engines. The iDrive system was the laggiest unresponsive piece of shit ever until it's update in 2004 that fixed it.

Don't get 2002s. Get 2004s or 2005s if you want a 745Li. The car didn't really have electrical problemas, at least mine didn't, but it had ALOT of mechanical issues

I mean, the car constantly needs servicing done to it and the check engine light never shuts off but if the car drives smoothly and you don't feel anything wrong with the engine, I'd say go ahead and get it. With these cars, you can feel if there's something wrong with it just by driving it (unlike most other cars). And you can change the oil yourself, but I wouldn't really recommend it because I did it once and apparently I didn't do it right or there was a certain way to do it

***** You got the worst model year 2004+ is when some of the issues where fixed. I'd say keep it the 2002-05 S-Class is gonna have similar issues

The 2005 S-class is also a groundbreaking car and its interrior is still similar in the newest S-class, and its a 2005 car, would say its as groundbreaking as the 7 series.

This looks EXACTLY like my 2004 745li. I thought BMW changed alot from 2002-2004, especially the iDrive system (Which I don't personally hate unlike most BMW drivers). I bought it at 27,00$ MSRP because it has the maximum sport package on it, (with many other packages).

Does anyone know why it says phone connected right there
