These men should have multiple Grammy awards on their shelves. The recording industry is an absolute farce.

I'm working out of town. I recieve a call from my sister to come home. She tells me "Dad is sick" I ask , what is it? She tells me just come home. I get home he had died of a heart attack at 51. I was 21 That was in 91. Now I'm 51 to the day of the age he was. I have a son who just turned 22. The moral of the story. I never got to say Goodbye. Great song... Singing this one for you tonight dad. Your grandson is a awesome young man. One more time for good luck. Goodbye
I must have watched this a thousand times over the years and...it never gets old. While the album version is good...this version is just perfect as it conveys the gut wrenching saying goodbye to the ones we love and even ourselves from certain stages in life. From the opening with Jack and Kelly singing together to Kelly getting behind the drums and just pouring it all out. This may make me a wuss but, it totally chokes me up!

Where are you now Jeff Watson? I wish you were still in Night Ranger.
A remarkable, incredibly touching 5 minutes of sound .... it's firmly in my Top Ten all-time.
I just heard this version for the first time. My life is changed.
I just love this song!! This version is really neat! The song has so many meanings.
Kelly Keagy, is definitely an under-rated songwriter singer, and musician. Probably due to him being a drummer. As a fellow drummer, it's EXTREMELY difficult to be a singer and drummer, let alone singing challenging leads parts. Kelly, good job brother! B

Actually, with Jeff, Jack, Eric and Brad, did it matter who sang lead? They could make a house fire rock, But, if Kelly would just make the original noises...all would be right with the world. see... www.joblo.com/videos/movie-clips/boogienights-sisterchristian

That must be why he's not playing drums here, or why Phil Collins didn't play drums & sing live.

WOW. Amazing band and incredible meaningful song. Always loved it and never knew it was a out Jacks brother. CHILLS. They sound amazing .
Love the voice of Jack Blades
it's hard living life on this memory- go -round
Kelly is another one of those good drummers with a great voice as well!! multi talanted for sure... sounds good
This is my favorite song hands down. Most beautiful lyrics, and reminds me of how I feel when I lose someone. Brad Gillis is an amazing guitar player.
God, 23 years after I first heard them live, and they still give me goose bumps. what a band.
this is a song about love, life, loss and letting go. to put all these in one song with a haunting yet beautiful melody is truly a combination of raw emotion and pure talent. long live the 80's
I think Jack's brother smiles everytime he hears this song! Jack created a soulful ray of light with this one. Liked it a ton back in the day....... like it even better now knowing the background of why he wrote it. thanx for posting
The Crescendo at the end… when it just kicks into high gear,, after over thirty years.. STILL brings me to tears. Thank you guys.😢
I was born in 2001 but I heard this song one time and I loved and I'm still hooked:)
Wow! This song brings countless amazing memories of high school days flooding right back. What a great time to be alive. Had all my friends, girlfriends, good times, crazy nights, the older generation of my family still happy and healthy. All passed too soon without realizing I was living the dream at the time. Night Ranger was the real deal and this was their best song!
Night Ranger.... Talented beyond words... Great 80s and current band!!
Goosebumps...
Kelly and Jack are greatness!!!
Such a great song! Brad never gets the credit for the great guitarist that he is.

IMO, this is one of the greatest Pop / Rock songs ever written. Absolutely incredible. These guys were such amazing musicians and song-writers. Still are. I so wish that Jeff Watson was still in the Band. But I also understand about relationships. Sometimes it just doesn't work after a long while. I still love him - and still love Night Ranger. One of my All-Time favorite Bands. And this - this is probably my all-time favorite performance of theirs. Seen em' live several times, and they are one of my all-time faves. This is my favorite song of theirs - and one of my all-time faves - period. But this performance - EPIC!
Killer guitar player and killer wicked talented drummer.
I just saw Night Ranger perform this song at Epcot in Disney World last weekend, and it was fantastic. They sound better today than they did 25 years ago!
Very hard to say "Goodbye" to the ones we have lost over time...
Kelly Keagy..one of the best, soulful voices in all of music. A classic NR tune. Thank you 4 posting.
Absolutely AWESOME!!!!
I love this!! Drums was totally awesome here, all of it was, really!! To be honest, one could feel something at the end with the guitar and drums together. Mind blowin music that really matters/mattered. Freakin chills I get!!! To me, that's what music is all about.

Except Kelly didn't play the drums until nearly 4mins into a 5min song.
Great band...Gillis plays with so much feeling.
Last part gives me chills
I love this band. Songs like this never get old.
One of the greatest bands of their time,..
great song, true to life, thank u jack blades/night ranger
Just put simply, AMAZING!
Just freaking awesome! I get chills when I watch this.
Such a heartfelt song from a great band. A time when music was real.
That was actually very very good!
This version is better than the original video version. I had a chance to go see these guys live in '87 and in '88. Awesome show.
Oh my God too much heart touching ...SUPER
Awesome! Damn, I miss my high school days. Thanks for posting this video.
This is hands down beautiful............go see and hear the recorded version....doesn't have the harmony but has even better sound, perhaps: More electric like the second part here. Thank you, Jack Blades!
what a great version! i will be seeing them in may!
Very powerful. I cant think of a more talented band.....ever. A tribute to all those special to us who have passed. Goodbye.
Lost my dad in 1994 he was only 50 year's young.... I never got to say GOODBYE....This song alway's hit home.

it's cool that this song was profiled on the nashville network. just goes to show that beautiful music like this can transcend all music genres and has the power to reach everybody.
this is awsome...i just watched them sing this tonight in a night ranger concert
By far Night Ranger's greatest song ever.Musical brilliance at its best!Love you guys!☝️👍👏
No other band play with such a passion.
I saw these guys a couple times in the ‘80s-Usually as the opener. NOBODY rocked harder than they did. They were IT.
damit this song sounds great! they sound great live. long live the 80's and youtube!!
When this song came out it turned them into Superstars. 1985 I believe. I was 14. Awesome vocals and dueling guitars is their signature.
night ranger will be performing at depere, Wisconsin on may 28th,2016. we'll see you there!!!
Just saw Night Ranger in concert. Truly awesome show and absolute Rock Stars. They wrote storylines from my life.
@bomis4 ~ My Heart goes out to you ~ I've lost both parents, a brother and sister and a nephew ~ all gone too soon!! But it's songs like this one, that help me to keep my spirits up and their memories will forever live in my heart, so hold on to their memories my friend!! Blessings to you!!
A beautiful song!!!
beautiful job, Mr. Keagy
one of the best songs ever!
I can really relate to this song ~ my Sister Betty died unexpectedly in 2000 of a cerebral hemorrhage~I didn't get to tell her Goodbye ~ Thanks Jack for writing this beautiful song!!
haven't missed a step. reminds me of seeing them in the great pacific northwest in my youth. amazing band.
thank you so much. awesome song!!
one of the best dam songs ever!
🥀Amazing song it comes from his heart that's for sure. I love this song God Bless you all🥀☝️🥀🕊🥀
@n8tureboy They played at the pavilion by the American Adventure. It was amazing. They played 3 separate 45-min. sets over the afternoon and evening, and we caught the first two. The first set was fully electric, and they closed with 'You Can Still Rock in America', and the second set was acoustic, with a great cover of 'High Enough' by Damn Yankees, and of course an incredible finale with 'Goodbye'.
WHAT A GREAT SONG..... THE AMAZING BRAD GILLIS.....LEAD GUITAR......
The whole lineup from "the day" is something grand and spectacular....i just didn't know it when I was a teenager back in them days....I do now.
my favorite song of theirs
BEAUTIFUL performance. This song really brings back the memories for me.
man, i love this song, ima so play this at my skool for my graduation!!!! its gonna be hard to leave it all behind me and even harder for me to say goodbye!
Most under-rated song ever!
These guys belong in the rock and roll hall of fame. Unfortunately they'll probably never get there but so much more deserving than some of the acts already there.
I don’t know if it’s Alan Fitzgerald in keyboards, but if it was him, is good to see the original line up playing together.
Absolutely perfect!
Brad broke a string towards the end but made the best of it. Great band. Great songs. Deserved so much more for their work.
Actually performed live, drummer as lead singer, two phenomenal guitarists, and a bass ❤player/lead singer/ songwriter= amazing talent!!!
Watching this in memory of my nephew, Curt ~ he passed away Jan. 27, 2002, (my birthday) \|m|

I you have never seen NR in concert than you are missing out. Old school rock the kind that sounds better live than on their albums. Thanks NR.
Drink this one down deep... PERFECT
I've been a fan of Jack and Night Ranger since the 80s and I knew abt his brother and that he wrote this song for him. Jack had been on Celebrity Ghost Stories abt an experience he had (not related to his brother) then a couple of yrs ago was on "The Haunting Of..."which is a follow up and medium Kim Russo tries to find out what the meaning of the experience was. I'd seen other ppl on the show and knew that a lot of times she gets msgs from their loved ones who have passed, and I had thought his brother will come through...sure enough he did! He gave Kim a msg abt how much the song meant to him. I know a lot of ppl don't believe in those things..but I do! I also know there are some fakes...but not Kim...I feel like she is very real!

Todavia recuerdo cuando vi el video por primera vez en 1985. Great song. I think is the best of Night Ranger
Wish I could travel back to this time; knowing what I know now 😔 85 or even before, and this song transports me there mentally 🕺🎤🎸🎶 🎼🤘
This song brings back some memories. For me it was I listened to to help me learn to deal with the loss of my Isabella.
saw them 2x in the 80s during high school. Saw them again in 2002 Alameda county Fair... Love them..... Will be forever a Night Ranger Fan,, Stacie Martin-Fresno, Pleasanton California

Brings tears to the eyes.
I love how it powers up at the end! Normally I like how the song plays as is, but the acoustic lead in was cool, then it kicked ass at the backend. Very talented, from Keagy to Watson and Blades. They remind me a bit of Damn Yankees and .38 Special.

It's no coincidence that you mentioned Damn Yankees, since Jack Blades was part of Damn Yankees (along with Ted Nuget, Tommy Shaw and Michael Cartellone). I mean, Blades is a very prolific songwriter, having written *tons* of songs not just with Night Ranger, but across a variety of records.
Got to love it..Better twenty years later. Thanx.
