I was watching this game knowing we had it in the bag and as soon as the pass was lofted i'm thinking easy pick... but dude managed to just squeak by troy and I'm like WHAATT??!? and that final dive... damn heartbroke me. it was a good game though but we shoulda had it won. goes to show, any given sunday....

I remember this one as well. The game actually started about 10 to 15 minutes late that day due to President Bush addressing the nation regaurding the beginning of the war on terriorism in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. This was a tough one to lose. My heart just sunk that day when Jenkins caught that TD in the final seconds. They then had to wait over 2 weeks to play again after this one.

Jake Plummer just seems like one of those guys who has a lot of luck on his side.He just had a knack for making big plays...Especially early in his career.Bill Walsh even called him the next Joe Montana back in 98.

what? i seriously don't understand what u mean by that....ANYWAY i base that opinion on the fact that when the cowboys play the cards (in AZ) there is more noise in the stadium when the cowboys score a TD then when the cards do...

I was actually a Cardinal and Eagle fan growing up in Baltimore back in the 80's. I remember watching this game back in 2001 in Delaware like it was yesterday. Even though I was a fan of both teams, I was partial toward the Cardinals in this game. Unfortunately the "2001" season was the last season that I really considered myself a "True" Cardinal fan. Yeah I was cheering for them in the Super bowl against the Steelers a few years ago and although they are a pretty good team now, its just not the same. I can honestly say from "1984 - 2001", I was probably one of the "True" St. Louis/Phoenix/Arizona Cardinal fans on the East coast.

Football has become sooo "commerciaized" that I just lost interest in not just the teams that I followed when I was a kid (Cards, Eagles, Chiefs, and L.A. Rams) but for the sport in general. Plus back in the day (80's and 90's) teams usually stayed together for at least eight to ten years if not longer, so you actually got connected with the team (cried when they lost, went wild when they won). I understand that the NFL is (probably back in my day too) a business nowadays but it sucks for former fans such as myself who grew up in a era when it was more "authenic". Anyway, How long have you been a Cards fan? If you're a longtime Cards fan, I can tell you about some Cards games back in the 80's and 90's that will leave you scratching your head. Lol...

This might have been Plummer's final career fourth quarter comeback. I don't think he had any of them in his years with the Broncos and the Cardinals only won a handful of games after this one the rest of his time there.

Cards actually had a pretty good year in 2001, following a disastrous 2000 season. They had a modest three game winning streak during the middle of the season that had fans such as myself thinking wildcard. Unfortunately, the Cards choked as usual but all in all it was a good season. Plummer rebounded from a horrible 2000 season and David Boston was a beast in 2001.
