    Thanks for getting the camera in the right angle so that we could see exactly where the starter is located and how to change the old one out. Outstanding job.

    Outstanding tutorial. Watched this a few times and swapped mine out in my ‘03 Suburban Z71. Didn’t need to lift or remove the tire. Thanks!

    I do like your video you complete tasks much smoother than the other ones that I watched and gave me more confidence. One thing I ran into was dipstick tube interference...I could not get it out or in with the dipstick tube so I removed it and then reinstalled it. I also took my oil sensor plug off and the other connection which I believe is a hot lead.. I was tired when I did the job and could not find that hot lead connection on the motor until I had to pull my starter back down again and watch a video that showed exactly where it was. That was kind of sad because once I saw it on the video it was in plain sight 😆

    Excellent! I'm too dang big to get under our 2004 vehicle. And my hands are too big to get to the wiring. My wife watched you video 6 or more times today and was able to get the starter off herself. Thank you so much for sharing.

    ..best video I have watched for clarity of tight spots and explanation. Just curious why you chose to disconnect negative cable as opposed to positive.

    2002 CHEVY SUBURBAN …Just in case anyone was having this problem . No crank no start …… fuel and battery gauges flip up still like it’s going to start and then dead silence . Replaced starter and back on the rd . Also when it went out couple issues I had was I tried jumping it one more time with a flat head and it blew the 40 amp fuse which caused the gas and battery gauge to stop flipping up when key was turned to on position . Lastly the replacement starter I purchased was longer than the original . So if you ran into that problem just know it will ….. I repeat will fit so don’t worry . Hope I helped someone as I searched every video looking for someone with the same issue on their suburban or if the larger one would fit and could t find not one video .

    Good video! I'm doing this on an Escalade and I've run into this issue where there is a another Bolt from a motor mount or something that doesn't seem to be on the Avalanche and the starter is getting hooked up on the head of that bolt and I can't get it passed it to drop out

    Could the heat shield be placed on starter before reinstalling it on vehicle without any complications?

    Would it be possible to take the starter off without taking the heat shield off and then put the new one on after clipping the heat shield onto it?

  • @drbokin6647

    @drbokin6647

    Yes the heat shield just goes on the part where the wires connect

    So his question is can you do the job without ever removing the heat shield and installing the new starter with it on... I would not recommend it. There would be a lot of interference and it's just simple much simpler to remove it and then reinstall it after the new starters in.
