    Impressive pulling by Swings, but an even more impressive race by Peula, who played it very smart. At first I thought he was wasting a lot of energy in the sprints--sitting at the back and having to sprint for the line each time. However, a closer examination shows that he backed off and then accelerated into the last two corners from an optimal angle, while others were stuck going the pace of those in front of them. He then came by them coming out of the last turn. Since he was at the back, he didn't wear himself out during the other parts of the race, and could save his energy for the end of the race.

    So the eliminations are to keep people going hard?

  • @uthoshantm

    @uthoshantm

    5 жыл бұрын

    I guess it's because the leader takes all the air resistance while the guys lined up behind have it easy. So, the elimination threat makes it more tricky and forces everyone to keep pace. By the time five are left, they have to fight for the first, second and third place.

    Just wondering....why the hell are there gutters on the sides of the road? If someone is speeding down and slips their wheel into one of those cracks you can pretty much say goodbye to your ankle. EDT: I realize they aren't really gutters, more like dips so they wouldn't hurt, moreover - slow you down. I understand, but if anyone could further explain if there were a better reason?
