Why couldn't the USA get an Accord like this? Why does the USA get short changed on awesome cars? Maybe I should move when I have the opportunity. ??🤔

It's actually the same piston bore and head as the h22a. The only thing different about it from an h22 is it has a 95mm crank stroke making it a 2.3l. If you put an h22 90mm crank and rods in it, Itd be a 2.2

That engine and transmission are similar to the Prelude. The 2.2L (195hp) was probably bored out to 2.3L to produce 200. The sport-shift trans is also very similar, if not exact. Very nice car though!

eiji81 Yup, H23. I've seen some fourth gen Prelude folks swap in this engine into their rides. I currently have a USDM Prelude Type SH with the H22A4, planning on getting the H22A Type S with ATTS engine swapped in soon. They also made the Si-R with an LSD. If I'm correct, the Accord Type R came with the H22A8, not too sure on that.

  • @eiji81

I previously had a base 98 Prelude Sport-shift Auto so this Accord is very similar. Just as cool as your Prelude SH. These cars are now getting more valuable and attractive due to its simple and efficient designs. Don't ever sell your Prelude! Its a dying breed and a future classic.

yes. there is always a way. but as a rule, any car not in compliance with the 25 year rule is subject to crushing. the R34s, if I remember correct, are "legal" because of a company called Motorex. They imported and were supposed to crash test R34s so they would be legal to drive on our roads. They only did it with R33s but lied and said they did it for 32s and 34s as well. The federal govt just said fine, we will legalize what's already here to stay. So they may be some of the lucky ones. Where do you live? If it's so-cal, I would bet that's the case.

Kind of a shame you couldn't get them with a manual, we had the IMO very sharp/stylish 1st gen Acura TLX here in America, same car but sedan only, same engine with your choice of automatic or 6 speed manual(IMO the one to get with that torqueless rev to the moon engine)
