Italian language is the same, local dialects can vary a lot and sometimes are proper languages but very few people speak only dialect mostly older and with lower education. Most people speak Italian although with different accents

This property is wonderful and does have tremendous potential but it’s near ruinous and strikes me as very expensive - for either a commercial or a domestic property. It requires a massive, painstaking restoration and conversion into a habitable, practical home and that work will be extremely expensive, a veritable sinkhole of cash, even if you get 45% back. There are very many of these abandoned rural properties, much of rural Puglia is still depopulating which is why there are so many incentives to encourage foreigners to buy, but that depopulation tells you that you will never be in a rising property market. I can’t see this making sense at 1.8m as a house, and as a business, you don’t want to invest nearly 2m before you get going, it’s 8 hectares, not 80.
