$200 Powered Draw Bench for Jewelers
This video explains a simple DIY draw bench made around an inexpensive electric winch. This is used for drawing down wire used in jewelry manufacturing. The parts were bought on Amazon for less than $200 CAD, about $175 US.

@@jorisArt Yes, its vertical on a 16' post I made for it. Runs on a 12v car battery attached to a trickle charger. I use a machinist's vise to hold my plates. I've tested it (with trepidation) making 5mm round fine silver wire. It's been connected and working fine since 2008.

Search for “draw tongs”. I don’t know where you live but they are common are jewellers supply houses online, eBay, Etsy, etc.
