200+ page super chatty sketchbook tour! | 2016-2022
Ahoy! This'll be baby's first public(?) sketchbook flipthrough, especially one that's THIS LONG 8,D I took IB Art in HS so I'm sorta used to explaining the bits and pieces of my sketchbook, which is why it's so dang long of a video. Hopefully it's not too much of a boring monologue/storytime :,D
I tried to label things as they show up in the video, but for the links and anatomy book references, I'm including the links here:

LOLL thank you! I love seeing a sketchbook get chonky as I make my way through it >:^D
Fun tour! It's exciting how many little drawings and bits you have in one book! I am compelled to add, though, you have one of Moleskine's journals there, rather than a sketchbook. They make ones specifically for art stuff with much thicker paper than the journals, I would advise you give one of those a try sometime! They'll hold up much better, though they don't have quite so many pages in one book ;)

OHHHH that makes a lotta sense, thanks for the clarification! lsdkjfs that's so funny I totally thought that they'd given me an art journal since i was speaking to an art class X,D I'd love to try more mixed media sketchbooks for actual artmaking and maybe use journals like these for art-journaling!

in my opinion, anything can be considered as a sketchbook. my friend uses notebooks typically, and i have multiple brands i use, like exceed and superiormaker, which are bullet journals, then a couple years ago i used illo. i will probally never have another giant sb like that 😅 im not saying i dont like regular sketchbooks, you can uses whatever paper or sketchbooks,but personally *i am trying to find a good sketchbook off of amazon, so if you have any recommendations, that would be great! ❤*

@@addisonsadventures3199 admittedly I'm not too picky about my sketchbooks so i don't have any fancy recommendations for ya, but I like Canson sketchbooks, and if they're available in your area, Clairfontaine GRAF it 90g sketchpads bc they have tear-away pages that I can paste into my artjournals ^__^)b
Great work. The witch hunter oc’s concept was cool. Not being able to stop smiling would definitely creep people out, but would be very entertaining

ok I clicked randomly on this video right, was going through like 'ah this person has taste, they like childe', get to 38:25, look up at my wall with the little childe in chopsticks sticker I evidentally bought from you at con... so uh, thanks for the sticker!
if you have the classic one the paper is worse but they also sell mix media sketchbooks and the paper quality is so much better, it has less pages though, keep in mind
This is amazing

ahaha yeah I getcha! There's some sort of freedom in having a mid-quality sketchbook in that you don't have to worry about "messing up" and can just play around ^o^
i love your art this was so nice to watch!!
♥
moleskin has a good sketchbook that's different from the normal ones that have art paper
THE ANATOMY IS🤯 did you learn on your own? If so what’s the process you went throughhh. I struggle so much😭
@cosumosu_art
Жыл бұрын
thanks! a lot of it was self-study, but if you have the time and the funds, Steve Ahn used to host a boot-camp sort of online class that teaches anatomy. I actually took it on accident, but it's still good info! Otherwise, doing daily studies from the magazines/books I listed have been helpful, as does gesture drawing and life drawing from people watching (well...it was, back before covid...). best of luck on your art journey dude!
I want to try this so much!! I should give it a try but considering it's 200+ pages, it'll probably cost lots of money ;-;

i'd say go for it with any sketchbook that you have, even a notebook! art journaling is supposed to be fun and a way to play around, so working with what you have is just as good ^o^)b

@@another-artist aww I getcha! I have a handful of sketchbooks that are just pen/pencil, or are unfinished too, but not every one needs to be super colorful to spark joy! This one was started in 2016 and I'd left it alone for 3 years before coming back to it, so finishing things can be a real challenge! Maybe you can cut out the pieces you like out of some other sketchbooks and paste 'em into one and focus on finishing that ONE sketchbook? I'll see if I can record a sketchbook tour of some of my sketchbooks that are mostly pencil/pen at some point!
У тебя прикольный стиль 🖐😊

Moleskin makes heavier paper notebooks
What type of sketchbook is it?
@cosumosu_art

it's apparently not actually a sketchbook at all? but a blank moleskine journal I was given! I don't recommend this to draw in, but the comments informed me that moleskine has an actual sketchbook line that fares way better ahaha

Ummm.. ummmmm... Ummmmm.. ummmmm..
The pages look very thin... You sure this is not a moleskine notebook and not a proper sketchbook?
