This story is screaming loud and clear. The monsters are here. Inside our own “house”. Trafficked children are either trafficked by someone they know or by someone who claims to want to “help” them. Stopping foreign aid and abandoning vast economic, political, and military interests abroad will not fix the problem of U.S. kids being trafficked. It would only make things a lot harder for US citizens to live, work, study, travel, and make $$$ abroad. It is, you just don't hear about it because it's individual cases and it's covered solely by local news because they are typically resolved quickly. I live in Ohio and we often hear and see stories of missing/runaway teenagers and then a couple days later they are found and the story is all wrapped up.

There should be a sanctuary for young people to apply to go to to protect them from their families. It would include skilled work training, general education, and support for advanced studies. They could have a food growing coop and art studies. They could be the family that they don't have.
