    I play between 100 hours and 130 hours a month. Every month. I’ve been in Austin at the Lodge for 2 weeks now and have 98 hours in. In the past 6 months I haven’t had a session anywhere near this much run good. It’s crazy how good you run. For sure you play good. But I don’t even think you grasp how unlikely it is to hit this many hands in a session. You hit the hands. You have otters with hands that pay you off. All of the luck lines up for you so often it’s pretty crazy. Not hating. Glad someone is having that level of run good. You seem like a good guy. So I’m all for it. But for some of us poker is legitimately a grind. Months on end of no monster sessions. Just trying to stay above even with marginal holdings and run even to run bad being the norm. Continued success. At least I can watch it happening to someone else.

    My concern/question is: Is this improper etiquette (or at the least, against the rules)? “Show one, show all” comes to mind. To me it’s the same as if I showed my hole cards ONLY to the person sitting next to me throughout every street/bet I am involved in. If this is frowned upon, wouldn’t it be frowned upon to do what Mariano is doing? On the flip side, would the dealer show Mariano’s cards over if someone on the table protested and asked to see the cards?

  • @mepmep27

    @mepmep27

    11 ай бұрын

    @@BryantR100I use to be of the mentality “show one show all” when I first started poker but after becoming more experienced I have switched. If I want to show the guy I’m in the hand against my cards after he folds that’s completely my right. It’s my money I’m betting. The pot is between me and the villain why should anyone other than the people involved in the hand get to see my cards? It may be scummy but if a random tablemate told me “show one show all” after I showed the guy next to me my cards (to give him peace of mind) i would simply say. “You weren’t in the hand mind your business” 🤷🏻‍♂️

    24:00 what was the rationale behind going all in? Was it to just take down the pot and eliminate the risk of a bad river? Not trying to get mor value in your current hand? 8:30 going all in with trip 3s versus nut flush draw (of course you didnt know he had the A at the time), isn't iit statistically advantageous for him due to how many spades in a deck there is? I'm a beginner and enjoy all the analysis thank you!

    The hardest skill to develop in poker, in my opinion, is what Mariano does SO DAMN WELL. And that is, (again, this is just my opinion) bluffing at a high enough frequency, and understanding that when you get picked-off, it's NOT A TOTAL LOSS, it's an INVESTMENT (so you get PAID when you MAKE A HAND.) I've been playing poker for 20 years, yet I just can't develop that skill. I recognize when I'm SUPPOSED to bluff, I just can't seem to do it enough. I bluff at like 25% of the frequency that I should, and resultingly, I'm not maximizing my time.

  • @michaelsparks1571

    @michaelsparks1571

    11 ай бұрын

    @@samronalds7799 Yes they're aggro, but when you call an open, then see a 3-bet and a 4-bet, if you call Mariano's 4-bet, you still have Pepe behind who can 5-bet. If you jam, you have two aggro players that can very easily have you crushed with bigger pairs, or at best flipping. You're also always gonna be out of position calling from the blinds against them. You're just never gonna be in a situation OOP where 88's is gonna feel great after this action pre unless you hit your two-outter to a set. Just wait for a better spot. And "being deep" is an even better reason to play cautiously in a marginal "hope i flop my set" spot, not gamble because you have plenty of money behind to lose. Better to kiss the $1000 goodbye rather than be in a position to lose much much more.
