I’ve been a husky owner for 16 yrs now and these are all excellent pieces of advice!! Btw our older 2 never howled until we had puppies. The puppies were the ones that started them all howling!!!

Me and my husky live the Van life on the road I got her at 9 months 1st thing she did was poop on the couch so yeah training started right away. Now Kyla is fully trained off leash very well behaved has some behavioral issues with other dogs sometimes when people come up to me with their dog and ask me if she's friendly I would have to say it depends on the dog my husky is very dominant for some reason.

@@therizzelgaming6921 With treats I started inside sit stay and come did that inside for a while then promoted to a safe area outside and eventually got rid of the traits altogether to the point where she only responds to my voice now these days She knows what to do, stay close, if she wonders off I call her and tell her to get back over here lol and she will wander off too it's what they do just keep an eye on them and things will go well.

I'm very into van life also, waiting to get my van to convert it, I'm going a hannahleeduggan style. Very comfy. Also planning on adopting myself a husky in the future when my van will be finished :,D

@@m3ph1stph3les7 If you're gonna do the Van life and get a husky make sure that the husky is in home trained 1st before you transition from in home to van life you want to make sure that the husky is potty train can listen on command is trained off leash and can handle long periods of time in a vehicle. But huskies are very resilient very adaptable probably one of the most adaptable dog breeds out there and also very stubborn. Just make sure you weigh all the pros and con me myself I got lucky I could have gotten any other husky but I got a really good one of course every husky is a really good husky but my girl is amazing I got lucky with this 1 I can leave her be when I go camping after a couple hours I just start calling her name and saying if she's hungry and she'll come rolling out the bushes in the middle of forest that's the kind of dog you want to train.

Got Liza at 3 1/2 yrs old. Took 6 months to gain some trust. She is smart and will escape if I let my guard down. She needs a lot of exercise and is well behaved after a couple mile run. If she catches a scent she will follow at a full run. Amazing stamina. We usually go for a 6 or 8 mile walk averaging 6 mph. Her running and me peddling a trike. Love the breed.

Getting a new husky pup next month 😀He will be my 3rd husky( not at the same time!) but my first puppy - my others were older rescue dogs. I’m so excited, but just a little terrified. He sooooo ickle and flooofy😍

I’m hoping to adopt a husky in the next year or two, i have wanted one for a long time, probably for about 4-6 ish years but was never able to adopt one. However, in the time I’ve been waiting it’s given me a lot of time to research (still currently researching or re-reading things) and I’m hoping I can be the right fit for this beautiful breed!

I have been training my 13 week old twice a day outside and once a day inside.. going well so far..

My 8 year old husky girl gets 4 walks a day, 2 of which I'm on my bike and she gets to run at her pace for 90% of the time but for that 10% I'm pushing her with my voice to sprint as I ride beside her, shes slimmer compared to other Huskies in the neighborhood and she knows it by how she struts her stuff around them. I wanted I Siberian husky for some time. I went to the animal shelter and I found one that I will meet tomorrow. I live in an apartment but I can take the dog out quite a bit to the park play ball. I lost my dog after 16 years and he was just very active. He loved to run and run. So I'm used to an active dog. And I'm thinking since I have a lot of time. I'm 62 years old. I would learn everything. I can about training for the first time. Really take this very seriously because it is adorable. When you could communicate really well with your dog? What I want to ask is. Is there anything I should know about bringing the dog home from the shelter. This is completely new to me and I am a little weary because I've always brought in a small puppy and of course the dog is like family, but I'm worried. Are there any traits to a dog that's a stranger with me. What should I do to make this dog? Feel welcome and safe and for myself also. I wish I didn't feel this way but it's new territory and it's a large dog.Could you please help with some advice?What I could do in the beginning

I got mine yesterday. She's a 7months old husky and the original owner can't take care of them so she gave one to us. When we brought her home, she ate everything we fed. But later at night she had a poop party going on in the living room 👁️👄👁️✨. I was wondering why she pooped so much and seems like the food kinda have a part. My mom said she was too scared bc our German shepherd tried to bite her too. can some of you please tell me some tips or why it happened?

I have a couple of Huskies that love to dig. dadan what can I do about that? I don't want them running away if they should happen to dig a hole deep enough… we take them on their walks daily all dalso because a friend of ours told us to do so the. any recommendations

Our old school way to stop digging on the farm was burying something like chicken wire into ground along the fence line. It keeps the raccoons out of the chicken coop, too.

Just got one, thanks to my cousin, and thinking of rehoming him, like my cousins husky are calm, my friends husky is calm, my other cousin husky is calm, by calm I mean they are not aggressive, they don't destroy stuff, I did my research I asked what are the needs and they said they always go for walks 1hr maybe 2 per day, and my puppy husky 4 months, and the first 2 weeks was amazing, he was nice got him toys treats, and time for the park, and for walks, he is food aggressive from day one I trying to train him to not being aggressive for food, and bit me after trying to get a cookie from the floor, and whines A LOT, I'm thinking of rehoming him because I'm losing faith with this puppy he gives me anxiety and a lot of stress, since I have depression I thought having a dog would be okay but rethinking it's just to much work on this puppy, I already had pitbulls and Rottweiler and never been so stressed from them, and AAAA, I'm just waiting for someone to ask me about him, since I walk him everyday people always compliment him, and asking for pictures I'll see if there's someone who wants him

Even in the dog park he is good with socializing but gets nervous on leash, other husky owners says they're husky don't whine or are aggressive like mine, reminding he is 4 months old and getting worried he will get worse, everyday I'm training him, since I have a part time job, I do have time with him but like I don't feel that connection when I had my other dogs do u know what I mean

You may want to pull up some anti anxiety videos dory your 4 month old. Also when feeding wait till he or she is calm before you sit the dish down. Right now it sounds like your dog is the Alpha and is picking up on your nervousness. You are the master And provider for the dog and you should try to be calm before approaching because they are brilliant and will pick up on your mindset. I hope you get to keep your dog. They are challenging at first. I’ve only had mine for about 2 weeks, and am still working to establish that I am the leader. She’s 7 months old and was re homed from my sister. She was being aggressive and destructive but is already improving while here. I reinforce positive behaviors and reward with praise and treats. Try to gain the upper hand and always say NO! To bad behavior and command to sit. If you’re obeyed reward w praise or a treat. This has been working for me. I will pray 🙏🏾 for your own peace and mindset! Let me know what you decide!

Oh I meant anti anxiety doggie videos… they are all over KZread and they work wonders with my 7 month old. Some are for sleeping and others for watching small animals in nature.

I love your videos, but I am finding more and more youtube people putting out videos discouraging people from owning huskies, and myriad of other dogs. I admit, there are some people out there that may bite off more than they can chew without educating themselves... and I would NEVER want any animal to fall into the hands of and individual who might be incapable of providing it with adequate love and care....but there are WAY more pros than cons... As Huskies need a lot of exercise... You do not need to exercise them as excessively as certain people are telling you. I am retired and have all day to spend with my little guys. I have an adequate yard, and space in the home. They have an endless supply of toys, love, cuddles, and time to play in the yard. I walk them twice a day, 3 if I can. Your life is not going to be compromised just because you own a high energy dog. I am looking for helpful info, not people trying to discourage people from bringing beautiful animals into their lives. I am a PROUD Husky owner, and once again, thank you for sharing your amazing Huskies with us!!!
