Having had 3 Dobermans previously, I adopted my Doberman puppy on March 8th 2024. He is now 5.5 months. I took 2 weeks off of work so he and I could get to know each other. I knew what I was getting into, going into it with so much excitement, love, dedication to training. Knowing that spending time, training him is well worth the investment. He's so smart. soi much fun! He practically house trained himself. He knows 9 commands & the names of all 14 of his toys. Texas in the summer irs too hot to run or even walk very far. I distract him with a chewing treat, hide his toys. I tell him which one to find. He finds the right one, brings it to me, gets a "good boy" & a piece of kibble. When he got touches of diarrhea during teething, I made some cinnamon bread. He hated it! One bite & he spit it out. Then, I made regular white bread, he hated that, too. So, I made a loaf of 7 grain whole wheat bread. He loves it! I was so happy to see his poop was firm! He knows what he likes! Love this puppy so much!

Dobermans are a unique dog. They are extremely attached to their owner. They stick to you like super glue. Where you go, they go. Exercise is key to keeping them happy. Extremely energetic and very athletic. Besides all of that. They are very loving and fun. They are a lot of work but more than worth it. I'm a truck driver and my Doberman "Bubba" lives with me in the truck. They can do well in small places but they need to run around a few time a day.

Hes more a son than a dog. You must establish yourself as the alpha male from day one. After that I rarely said commands more than twice. Its eye contact. He puts his snout in your face and stairs you right in the eye. He can read me without saying a word. Push my wife out of the bed. Family is drowning and I can only save one......Im grabbing the dog (yeah, Im serious). And yes he speaks english.

They are stubborn.
